Bhutan road trip was in our dream list for quite few years but somehow got delayed due to other travel trips which were planned on our limited calender space for which we thank to our corporate culture eco system and busy school of our boys.
After having new year party with friends on 31st December and 1st January 20 🥂 , myself nitin🕺 and partner in crime Priya 💃finally zeroed down to Bhutan as urgent road trip required for all four of us, as even our boys👬 school were also having winter vacations and they too were showing interest in long road trip to dragon country.
Next two days were for quick leave jugaad for maximum possible days as extended days can be made up on sickness platform 😂.
Finally our truck🚔 took off 🛫on 4th January 1600hrs with burgers🍔🍟🥤 packed from Gurgaon Mr Donald's .
Took 75+ mins to cross Delhi and reach Noida . Soon we 👩👩👦👦 touched yamuna expressway towards Agra . Halted on xpressway for another round of coffee and munchies 🌯🍕for us and ⛽ our truck.
Feeling 😊 of leaving city life is always awesome and adding to it was another weighted 🤩feeling of "mountains🏔️🗻 are calling and we must go and are really On Our Way" was making us feel amazing.
Another 2 hours on Xpressway🛣️ and we touched another Express🛣️ way towards Lucknow. It's was already dark 🌑🌌and we were aware of dense fog which will definitely meet and greet us on our way and make it more exiting🙉 for boys and careful🙈 for me and my only navigator.
While enjoying every km of journey including scary fog on one of the loneliest 🛣️expressway , we finally reached ⚓Lucknow 🛬at 2200hrs . Another 45mins to cross city commercial traffic and reaching hotel on the road itself so not to see office hours traffic of city next day .

We filled out tanks with breakfast 🍽️🍹buffet at Ranjees and hit the road🛣️ at 0730hrs.
Our next stop was not planned but definitely shortlisted place was either gorakhpur or muzaffarpur depending on road condition🚦 and even traffic jams🚧 due to protests going on across country on citizenship amendment act might slow us .
Road ahead Lucknow and barabanki was not as good as last day . Xpressway travelled yesterday spoiled us 😂. Small tea halt near ayodhaya saryu bridge on highway.
We reached gorakhpur by noon 🌕and got ⛽filled and continued ahead towards muzaffarpur. Roads got slightly better post gorakhpur.
Soon Priya 🙋noticed milestone stating khushinagar and her brain initiated a code which me and boys were very well aware of ,that surely now we have a stop coming on our way at khushinagar. Till the time we reached khushinagar, we were briefed🤷 by Priya about historic importance of the place and we were feeling 🏋️nothing can stop us in becoming a tourist guide at khushinagar. Well, Kushinagar is an international Buddhist pilgrimage place, where Great Gautama Buddha attained Parinirvana after his death. We were thankful 🌷to Priya👸 for making us stop at such beautiful place having so much importance. Not to be missed are several stupas, museum, archeological park, indo Japan temple and Indo Thai temple.
Soon we found clock moved quite fast and our this stop took 2 hours. We took some refreshments and moved ahead towards🧭 muzaffarpur.
First Forced stop due to Major traffic jam on Ganga bridge holded us for another hour.
Till muzaffarpur, we all debated on Gyan session on Buddhist temple we all noticed while at khushinagar.
Soon we reached muzaffarpur⚓ at around 1700hrs. Instead of going inside city we stopped on highway towards our route to Bhutan. So our agenda 🧐was very clear of avoiding any city stay and remain at highways only till we reach Bhutan.
