Short family trip to Kodaikanal

15th Nov 2014

We were about 40 members from a family (Including uncle, cousins and their kids). The trip's agenda was to get together at an interesting place more than anything. The members included elders as well as kids, so the schedule din't have any stretching options. Our starting point was Melattur in Malappuram/Palakkad border. It was about 6 hour journey to Kodai. On the way you will be able to enjoy the hair pin bends and sceneries. We stopped at one of the view points to enjoy the sight as well to take photos. We arrived at our hotel in Kodai at about 1pm on Day 1. Our hotel was couple of km's from the Kodai lake. Then we had a food from hotel near the lake and went to Bryant park because it closes at 5 pm. After that we went for boating at Kodai lake. It was about to close luckily we got in. After that we did shopping for about an hour and then went back to hotel.

Day 2 we started early. We planned returning back on the same day by about 3 pm. Kodai's attractions are lined up along the direction of the road. So you can start from the lake and cover the destinations and reach back near the lake. We visited Pine forest kodaikanal, Guna caves,Pillar rocks and Green valley view. We took lot of photos from Pineforest. Pillar rocks had intermittent visibility. But Green valley view or suicide point we weren't able to see much.
