Day 2

We woke up to plan a relaxing backwater ride at the Allepy backwaters which is just an hour drive from Ernakulam. It was quite a humid day so we took a 5 hrs backwater ride in the houseboats available. There were 2-3 spots which were breathtaking and serene. Taking this boat ride made believe why Kochi is called the "queen of the Arabian sea". One of the best experience was having chia lime juice in the island. It was very refreshing and soothing.

We ended our day 2 at the Marine drive by clicking selfies with the "I love Kochi" tableau so as to make a bookmark of this wonderful weekend getaway from Bangalore!

Day 1

Few days back when my mom broached about a trip I started looking for a place to visit during the weekends so as to break the monotony of Bangalore!

Kochi....a small town in coastal Kerala falls in the Ernakulam district along the coastline of Arabian sea. Being a port it reflects the confluence of European, Chinese and Portuguese culture.

We chose to drive through the NH44 from Bangalore to Kochi via Coimbatore. After taking a halt in the Adi yogi (isha foundation) we finally reached our destination tired.

In the afternoon we took a nice stroll in fort kochi which is quite famous for the Dutch, Portuguese, British colonial architecture. It felt quite like Goa with extra touch of the Keralian cuisine. There are a lot of cafes to hop in but we were quite satisfied with the juice served in the papaya shell.

To the misfortune Jews street was closed as it was a Sunday so we completed our day 1 at the Lulu mall which is quite famous amongst the civilians of Kochi.
