Dante suddenly came up with an idea of travelling across India on a bike. I thought he's gone crazy, but sometimes crazy is good. I certainly said yes and he travelled his first 496Kms to come to Pune from Goa. It was just for me to join him on his trip. While he was progressing towards Pune to see me, I decided to surprise him with some plans. As Dante reached my city, I informed him about a few adventure sports happening around the city, which I discovered on Google. He was definitely curious to know more and I surprised him by saying that I have booked our spots for paragliding at Kamshet. Pune is a beautiful city, having places of interest for all. Dante is Flemish, he belongs to Belgium and was very happy to know that there are many good places for food which suit his taste and also less hot :p (Most wester people can never go for Maharashtrian cuisine, as it's really spicy. I'm used to milder tastes too, so it's sometimes really hard to even try something random). One night we managed to stay in Pune and the early in the morning we decided to leave for Kamshet. Whole India was busy celebrating Holi (An Indian festival of colors which usually occurs in the month of March every year). On this day, anybody can throw colors on you. Me & Dante were really scared when a few people approached to us, loaded with lots of colors. I somehow convinced them that we'll be upset if they color my new Jeans :p but I couldn't help Dante and the guys colored him a little :D
He looked cute with that. <3
Then came our Glide operator to pick us up, but we had a slight change of plan. We decided that we will go on next day for the glide. We found a hotel nearby to check in for one night and see the local places. Hotel was cheap, it costed us INR 850 for a single room. Kamshet is close to many tourist spots like Lonavla, Bhushi Dam, Tiger Falls, Mulshi Dam, Khandala. We managed to see as much as we could in 7 hours with our motor bike. After finishing the visit to these places, as we got back to our hotel, we found out that they had organized an orchestra program for Holi. Dante doesn't know Hindi at all :p so he could hardly enjoy the lyrics, where as I was enjoying the songs of late 70s of the great indian legendary singer. Somehow that was the best evening I ever had experienced before. Down with a couple of drinks, we went to rest and to be prepared for the adventurous next morning.
We left our rooms by 11am to checkout and reach for Tandem Joy ride. Temple pilots was the operator with whom we booked us for paragliding. We reached the spot and waited for the wind to blow stronger. I weigh less than Dante, so it was easy for the pilot to take me on the glider, where as we waited for Dante to go on the glider. It was my turn and I was shaking with fear, as I never had done it before. They started to harness and gave me a helmet. I suddenly ran to Dante for a hug, as it might had been the last day for me :D Also I was really scared. But once we swiftly flew, it all became so easy. I started to float on the air. It was a feeling of freedom. It was a feeling of feeling myself. I completely was with me, with all my senses. I never encountered so much of me. I felt each breath entering my lungs, I felt the touch of the splurging wind all over me. For sometime I lost myself to nature. It was the best moment of feeling myself. I loved living for it.
