Matheran is a small hill station near Mumbai, basically a weekend getaway in the rainy. In brief, We were a bunch of 9 travelled from Hyderabad for a break from our machine lives. It was a two days trip, so the first day was all about Rajmachi trek and a hint of Mumbai.
Coming to the best part, vehicle entry is restricted to a certain point, from there you just have to trek into the diversified wilderness following the toy train track which routes from Neral to Matheran. We reached Matheran around 3:00 A.M making the entry more exciting. The fog was so dense in the forest that we were only able to look few meters away. We believed on our instincts and walked holding each other. There was no single villager because of our odd timing, which left us witnessing scariest sounds and snakes. This will be on my top list adventure of travels where i was back home sound and good. Finally we reached our stay, wherein we couldn't contact our stay owner for a long time. This trip was full of surprises. The stay was quite cozy and in budget for a night.
Started around 11:00 A.M, we witnessed this beauty taking the horse ride through the tough roads which made it more exciting. There will be many packages for the view points to be covered. You just have to show up your bargaining skills for the whole package. We were astonished with some beautiful waterfalls, valleys full of flowers shined like sunshine, charlotte lake and a lot view points on our way. You just have to deal with the guides who are taking you around, who will make you hurry up.
The day ended by 7:00 P.M, we packed our bags and made our way out of the village following the same track again. This time it was a clear way with other travellers and we were able to see the way who can travel by horses. Though the darkness has covered, it wasn't foggy. This trip was a bit tiring, a bit hectic but at the end we just refreshed ourselves to the fullest and were ready to go back to our routines.
