Amer fort also known as Amber fort , near Jaipur Rajasthan , is well known and most visited forts in India. Amber fort was constructed in 1592 by the Maharaja Maan Singh I ,one of the most trusted general of Akbar . on 2013 the fort was declared world heritage site by the UNESCO, as a part of a group of 6 hills fort in Rajasthan. The architecture of Amber fort is designed in a fusion of Rajput and Mughal styles.
Amber fort is approximately 11 k.m away from Jaipur City Center. It takes us around 20 – 30 mins to reach over there.
You can book a cab or auto-rickshaw which will cost you around 700- 800. You can also rent a bike which will we quite affordable . There are many online sites from where you can rent a bike. We rented a bike from Road Panda. The link from where we rented the bike is mentioned below. The charges of the bikes will differ on the model of the bike . The starting range will be 150 per day. If you are budget traveler than you us public transport like which will charge you rs. 15. All the buses will be available from Hawa Mahal.

The entrance of the Amber Fort is at the top , we walked uphill, you can also take a ride back on the elephant, go by jeep or golf cart. The amber fort is consist of 4 courtyards ,palaces, halls and gardens. At the entrance of the amber fort lies primary courtyard, also known as Jaleb Chowk. As we head inside the fort through staircase from Jaleb Chowk courtyard you will reach second court yard Diwan-e-Aam( hall of public). As we passes through the ornate mosaic Ganesh poll, we will reach the third quarter which is separated by the garden. The walls of the garden are covered with intricate mirror work which are imported from Belgium.

Morning - 8:00 – 5:30
Evening – 6:30- 9:30
The cost of the ticket is 100 rupees for Indians and 500 rupee for foreigners at the day time . if you are a college student you should carry college i.d which will give you a huge discounts in ticket. The ticket charge 20 rupee from students. It charged us 20 rupees per ticket as we were students. At night ticket costs 100 rupees for both foreigners and Indians.
