No internet so no posts !!!
Started my first day at Udaipur having breakfast at cafe satori
A young man from Udaipur who started his restaurant to cater all the foreigners in Udaipur ..All the cuisines and coffees are strictly for foreigners ...
A lot of so called havelis have been converted into hostels in Udaipur area where foreigners get cheap rooms and foods near by as per their taste !!!
10 Minutes from the Restaurant is Jagdish Temple!! It is a very old temple , built in 1600's !!
The architecture of the mandir and the Aarti by the local residents is just amazing !!!
Coincidently was there when Aarti just started !!!
2 minutes walking distance from Jagdish Temple is city palace !!
HRH group of hotels /current residence of the Royal Family of Udaipur and a museum
One of the must do things in Udaipur !!
Something I am fascinated about apart from the huge palaces is the doors !!!
Like Trump days it's huuuuggggeee
Amazing I just love it !!!
Some pictures of the courtyard and city view from the palace
In the afternoon took a boat ride at Lake pichola !!!
It's highly recommended being in Udaipur !!
Only Taj and Jagmandir are two hotels that are situated in Lake Pichola , rest all city palace , udaivillas. Leela are at the ghats
Both the properties are of the royal family , one is been leased to Tata and other is managed by the royal family themselves
What a view !!!!
After the board ride, went to Sajangarh Fort!!
Its both a sanctuary and a fort !!
It is said to be a monsoon fort where the royal family used to enjoy their monsoons , and the city looks beautiful from here during the monsoons !! Though the fort is not well maintained but it gives a Great view of the city and both the lakes !!!
Killer Sunset at Fateh Sagar Lake !!!
Not to be missed at the second distinctive lake of Udaipur - Fateh Sagar Lake
The area is like chaupati of Bombay , where people walk around the lake and have chats and street food
Wanted to have my dinner at this fabulous property !!! Udaivillas ...Barged in last moment and the restaurant was full ...So went for my next option
Taj and Jagmandir Palace ....Taj is an excuse property and does not allow local residents or outsiders to have meals ...It only serves the in- house guests ....At first I thought was overly hyped by doing so but later gave a second thought and appreciated the privicy and being exclusive staying at Taj ....
So went for my second option Jagmandir Palace for my Dinner !!!!!
So Finally When Udaivillas was full , I went for my next option Jagmandir , as Taj only serves to inhouse guests !!!!
The City looks all together different at night !!
One of the most beautiful indian cities I have seen lit !!
Thanks to these advance camera night mode features , the pictures could come out nicely
Took my boat Ride from city palace to the Palace !! It was a a private boat offered by the palace but the cost was included in th cover !!!! One of the best dinning experience I have had was at the Jagmandir Palace !!! The ambience , the view, the food , the over all vibes was just toooooo good !!!
Now for the Game Changer !!! Being a Luxurious Exclusive Hotel , Jagmandir charges you 3000 RS as cover for a single person and RS 4200 for couples !! I tried explaining them if for couple the cover is 4200 RS so for a single it should be 2100 RS to which they refused and eventually I had to pay them 3000 RS as cover !!! Trust me this meal was my heartiest meal of my entire trip !!! For starters I ordered Kamal Kakdi anar ki bhel ( lotus stem chaat) , for main course Bajre ki roti and darikhana panner ( an exclusive Rajasthani dish of the restaurant )
And for deserts I had MEWARI LAPSI !!! Well to be precise this was wwoooooowwwww!!!
It is like Kada parshaad of Gurdwara but made from wheat grains , it is not as fine as the parshaad but the the grains of wheat can be tasted and felt in big numbers and size when you eat it !!!! It was amazing and new for me !!!!!
Early Morning left for Ekanji Temple !!
Marwad being a sun dynasty have been worshippers of Shiva !!
Well this temple is too old (built in 1400's), as generations of Marwad rulers have been worshipping here
In the complex you can find many shiv lings in different rooms but the main centre shivling is very exlcusive and one of a kind I saw for the first time !!
The shiv ling is five faced , the west facing is of lord Vishnu , east of Surya Dev , south of Rudra , top of Shiva !!
When you see the temple you can actually make out how old the temple is and still well maintained .it is still a practise for every marwad to visit thai temple before any important work he has to conclude .
The king's used to take the blessings of Eklingji before revert fight !!!
