My second visit was full of surprises! Besides practising on my Astro learnings from Lonely Speck blog, I met some amazing folks Ankit and Mayur at Zostel Spiti and we decided to travel together to keep things under our budget. On the last day, we camped near Chandrataal Lake at 4250m. The day spent well at the lake but the night turned out to be freezing cold for me. I realised something is wrong while we were sitting outside our camp in a bonfire. I was cold and could barely listen to the music being played around. We all moved to the kitchen for dinner and that’s when Ankit saw me shivering badly and struggling to breathe. Soon things got escalated to the camp owner and I heard them talking that "earliest we can take him to the hospital is in the morning and maybe we have to call a rescue helicopter." I was taken inside the camp where I was given three thick blankets to withstand that cold night. But what saved me from this condition was a local hot drink made up of garlic and lemon. It tasted bad but was a real life saver as it worked as a natural blood thinner. Nothing seems to get normalise until I fall asleep thinking to wake up in the ICU room of some hospital next morning.

Next morning I was alive joking around what happened last night with my two amazing friends sipping ginger lemon honey tea - ah miss that ;)
