Mirissa's Hidden Treasure – A Sight to Behold in Sri Lanka!

The secret beach in Mirissa can be identified as the hidden treasure in this scenic coastal city. Located just a short distance away from the main beach in Mirissa, it is one of those secluded stretches of paradise to which one can make their way to enjoy several serene and undisturbed hours.

Getting there

Located close to many a Mirissa resort, the Secret Beach in Mirissa can be best accessed by tuk-tuk. A narrow, winding road makes it an interesting journey if you ignore the bumpy patches. During the last 200 metres the road gets so bad that it would be best to continue the rest of the journey by foot.

Main Beach

Secret beach is pretty much made up of two palm-fringed beaches. Upon arrival, you may set your eyes on an open ocean. The scintillating waves of the sea make it an ideal location for a refreshing dip.

Lagoon Beach

Just around the corner from the main beach, you will come across the lagoon beach. With a rocky outcrop creating a shallow lagoon, it is a safe location to float around with your kids. It truly is a hidden gem in the south of Sri Lanka.

Marine Life

Like many other beaches in the country, the Secret Beach in Mirissa also has a thriving ecosystem that is largely contributed by marine species. There’s a good chance that you may come across some turtles, which would totally make your day. Just keep an eye out for those sea urchins, though!
