If a person asks you where would you like to spend your birthday. Most people would say Goa.

It was my 19th birthday and guess where it was going to be celebrated. Yes, you have guessed it right- Goa. The catch was I was going with my parents.

We covered the 2 and 1/2 hour journey from Delhi to Goa in the morning, reaching our destination in the afternoon.

Day 1

We checked into our hotels in North Goa and after feeding our stomaches and freshening up headed to the nearest beach.

Baga beach is a typical Goa beach in it's terms. It's filled with people from all nations around the world. There is a party mood set up on the beaches by the locals with the tourists joining in.

I wasn't a big fan of it. Thing is for me beaches mean that they should focus on cleanliness and sanitary facilities which due to overcrowding and poor management couldn't take place.

Day 2

You go on safaris or any wildlife watching activity for that matter you usually come out pretty satisfied with the experience but with a little disappointment that you were not able to see the beast they went looking for. This was not the case for us we saw the dolphins in abundance, jumping and showing off.

The snorkeling though was not to be, they didn't really have the equipment. Instead we indulged ourselves in a bit of fishing and getting in the water by ourselves.

All in all an amazing experience that everyone should undertake if you take a trip to Goa.

Day 3

Mountains and seas take the limelight away from something as beautiful as the waterfalls.

We don't add it in our bucket list or a must visit list even when we are visiting nearby, yet if you make a visit to the place, it leaves an impact on your brain that shakes you away.

Dudhsagar waterfalls, a four-tired waterfall is located in South Goa, which should make it away from all the rush but that is not a case, it's still a major tourist destination because of the movie shoot of "Chennai Express" in 2013; if you are lucky you might find a train going through the route.

Dudhsagar Falls is located on the Mandovi River in the border of Goa and Karnataka. It is 60 km from Panaji by road and is located on the Madgaon-Belgavi rail route about 46 km east of Madgaon and 80 km south of Belgavi.

To reach Dudhsagar waterfalls, you need to take a hike of about 20 minutes through a rocky path which is not recommendable for old people.

After reaching the waterfall, you could take a dive in and observe the bottom of the waterfall from close range.

Day 4

One of the Twenty-Seven Wonders of Portuguese origin around the world-Basilica of Bom Jesus.

The Basilica of Bom Jesus is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The basilica holds the mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier.

The location is so beautiful that it could serve as a good shooting location for professionals and amateurs alike.

Going to the cruise in Panjim was the one thing we regretted on this trip. It lacked lustre because of it being overcrowded as well as being under-maintained. The traditional dance I have to say was demeaning to the goan culture. Even the food was not upto the mark, lacked taste as well as quality.
