I have often heard the qoute "Difficult roads lead to beautiful destinations" .
My trip to Spiti led me to believe that difficult roads not only lead to a beautiful destination but to beautiful warm hearted people as well. The hospitality that they welcome you with even though they have access to very little luxuries and amenities, making sure you are comfortable in their little abode.
Life is not very easy for the people living in the beautiful valley.From harsh winters to inconvenient connectivity with the mainland, they strive everyday even for their daily requirements which we often take for granted.
Away from the digital life,ignorant of what's trending on Instagram,tiktok or Facebook; the simple life they lead is what we miss secretly. It is an irony to see that the bonding they share within the community is not what we see normally despite all the access / connectivity we have around us in the cities.
The kids running around playing with each other finding joy in little things . With no fancy toys to play with, no fiddling with PubG, they looked more contented and happier than any of us who has everything it needs to make life more simple and entertaining.
My trip to Spiti made me realize that having everything doesn't make one Happy. From the best clothes to best cars and a fancy life, somewhere we all want a life where we can be ourself , with people around who really care, not for what we possess but because of what we mean to them; a life where we live without the fear of missing out from things happening around which are not even relevant but we do it so to keep up with the growing needs of the prentiontious World we live in.
