Day 1

Tamil Nadu roads always fascinates me, the country side roads are covered by trees on both the sides. Single lane roads with twists and turns would be a treat to any biker on this road. Hoganekkal falls can be reached both from Kanakapura road and Denkanakotai route. I chose the later one as the route is scenic and beautiful.

I started at 7 am in the morning and reached Hosur at 8.15 from where my other two friends joined. We took right turn from Hosur and rode straight 30 kilometres to reach Denkanakotai for the breakfast

Sarvana Bhavan in Denkanikottai is famous for breakfast on this route. We had yummy breakfast and resumed our ride to Hoganekkal falls. The route from this point was small yet even more beautiful. We crossed the forest stretch which was a treat to any biker to ride on that stretch.

Took coracle ride to go near the falls and have the magnificent view of the falls

Reached Hoganekkal falls at 11 in the morning. As soon as we reached many people approached us asking if we want body massage. At first I was confused but later realised that this place is famous for oil massage. The view of the waterfalls was ok ok from this point. But it wasn't as amazing as I had seen in pictures.

This was the closest we could get to the falls on a coracle

Another person approached us asking if we want coracle ride, I showed him the photo which I was expecting for which he replied "Yes if you take the coracle ride you will get this view". Coracle ride is 750 and takes up to 4 people at a time. Since its operated by the TN govt itself there's no way to bargain on that.

We boarded the coracle and approached near the main waterfalls. the view of the waterfalls from so close was breathtaking. There's also a view point from where the iconic view of the falls was visible. Every penny we paid was recovered after having such a great view of the falls.

We returned to the main entrance and paid the boat man 100 rs tips for the guide he provided. We had meal on the hotels. I wanted to take oil massage but after realising I had to ride 150 km back to my home I dropped the plan. However I wanted to take bath in the waterfalls but it was way too crowded so we decided to stop a little far near the river bank for the bath.

As planned we stopped after few kilometres from the main waterfalls. There were hardly few people around. Which gave us enough space to enjoy taking dip in the water.

We rode straight 100 km to reach Electronic city fly over where I bid good by to my friends and proceeded to meet my old friends.
