Rishikesh through my eyes

Tripoto

Walking to my own tune... lost in my own world🌈 Well that’s me most of the time and this place had a different kind of peace and calmness.

Day 1

Since I was a little kid I considered Rishikesh a very holy place and where old people go but little did I know that one fine evening I will make a plan with my 8 other friends to take a trip to Rishikesh and until we could plan out everything we were on our way to catch a bus and run away from the city choas.

Day 1- Jaipur to Rishikesh

Troubling each other whole night, talking about absolute rubbish things overnight in a bus we finally reached Rishikesh after 11 hours. We had run away from the noise of a busy city and we found a place place far away from signal, Wifi and traffic and the most picturesque place to chill and eat maggi in. Now if I look back i wouldn't mind getting quarantined here for a few days. I'd love to get up to a beautiful sunrise and listen to the voice of river flowing. Camping has always been my favourite and Camp Wildex made my trip 100 times better.

A place surrounded by the hills, river and so much peace and serenity..

Right behind this very peaceful place there is a river flowing which adds so much more to the place.

This photo captures my metaphorical ZNMD moment that I would want to live in forever. Absolute peace of mind, a flowing river, and the best friends that anyone could ask for🌻.If I had to conjure a happy thought to fight off dementors this is definitely one of the contenders of my happy memories

We are a bunch of energetic souls do you think we went off to rest after this? Definetly not. One of the guy on the campsite offered us to take us to a small hike to a waterfall. A walk in the woods between the nature, away from pollution why not?

A beautiful trek to the most serene waterfall!!

Do you love dogs? I certainly do and i think they are the best buddies one can have!!

We ended the day coming back to the campsite, having delicious food by the bonfire and chilling whole night...
Day 2

Day 2- River Rafting

Can any Rishikesh trip actually start without river rafting? Absolutely not. The morning of day 2 to started with my friends barging into the tent with gulaal in their hands and shouting holi hai!!! After making each other dirty with all the colours it was time for the most awaited adventure of the day for us and trust me after hours of rafting we didn't want to get out of the water.

Fighting over paddles, Houling and shouting, jumping into the water with one of our friend shit scared we had the most fun times in those few hours!!

So you might know how much sleepy one feels after getting out of the water and hungry too. So our day at the camp had come to an end and we finally got into the middle of the city and checked into a hostel: Gostops. It was one of the most picturesque hostel in the area and the hospitality, the ambiance just made our next 2 days very comfortable and after resting up we definetly needed some good food in our tummy to get back the energy so we decided to explore places and night life of Rishikesh on foot.

Is the cheesy Pasta and pizza making you hungry? We definetly had good food with a good view of Lakshman jhula.

Day 3

Day 3: The Beatles Ashram

I always try finding the less touristy places of the city so that I can actually get to know the city. Rishikesh has its own charm when explored on foot and we decided to walk till The Beatles Ashram.

🎶Hey Jude, don't make it bad Take a sad song and make it better Remember to let her into your heart Then you can start to make it better🎶

The Beatles' decision to study Transcendental Meditation in India brought international renown to the ashram and to Rishikesh. They stayed in the ashram for a brief period of time and it turned out to be the most productive time of their life and came up with really hit albums.

As I walked through the lanes of the ashram i realised why people came here to meditate and actually bring something out of it. This place had a different kind of peace and calmness. There was so much positivity and story after every little cottage or painting

The day ended with hitchhiking back into the city and sitting on the ghats of the river Ganga, dipping our feet and witnessing a beautiful sunset.

Day 4

Day 4: Can a trip end without any messed up adventure?

On the last day we had a good lunch in the Beatles cafe. Its a must visit place, the food there was one of the best i have ever had. We had no pre bookings for the bus back to Jaipur and guess what we didn't even get any at the moment. We college kids had to get back to our classes the next day and we were stuck there with no bus going back to Jaipur. We decided to take a local bus to Haridwar and after reaching there we only got a local non ac seater bus going to Jaipur via Mathura and trust me by the time I reached Jaipur my back dead :(

After all how can a trip be complete so smoothly? Thode mess ups toh chalte hai to remember the trip and laugh about it later.

Also, did I introduce to the fools who i have talked about in this whole blog?

This right here are the most amazing people of my life around who I am the happiest and can blabber anything till date.
