The one-time investment

While I was on my way towards Bhagsu waterfalls on foot, i noticed a unique and interesting way of keeping the soft drinks cool used by one of the shops !!
As the waterfall stream was just behind it, they fitted some pipes in such a manner that they can get the flow of the stream water towards the shop. To control the flow, they fitted a bottle in the wall and placed the bottles just under it (as in picture).
Also, the same way they fitted an exit point for the water too. The water will remain for sometime in the box and then flow out. It is a non-stop process so the soft drinks get chilled up just like a refrigerator would do.
Is it for saving electricity or is it done due to lack of power supply, the whole thing is quite efficient and a one time small investment.
We all should apply creative thinking in our daily life and try to save as much resources as possible !!
