Bali is one of the top vacation destinations for Indians. Sun-kissed beaches, all-night parties, and green rice fields are some of the stunning reasons why Bali is a must-visit place for millions of people around the world.
And now, you can have an even sexier Bali vacation by combining it with an ultra-amazing cruise. Yes, the government is already working on a cruise route from Mumbai to Bali via Goa, Kochi and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
According to Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport & Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, talks with the Indonesian government are ongoing to roll out this cruise route soon. He said, “I have met a minister from Indonesia. We have initiated the idea of starting a cruise from Mumbai to Andaman & Nicobar via Goa and Kochi. The ships can go up to Bali, Indonesia”.
Gadkari wants to boost cruise tourism in India. He says that Indians go to Singapore, Hong Kong, and Thailand for cruises and otherwise also South-East Asia is one of the most visited places for Indian tourists. He wants to capitalise on that and provide Indians chance to enjoy a cruise as well as visit their favourite South East Asian vacation destinations.
Also, as part of boosting the cruise tourism in India, the Mumbai Port Trust is developing a state-of-the-art cruise terminal near Ballard Pier, having the capacity to cater to over 7 lakh passengers annually. Currently, India sees about 160-200 cruise arrivals each year, with these new cruises announced, the minister hopes to take this number up to 1,000 over the next five years.
There is no booking opportunity yet as the cruise is expected to start in 2019.
No confirm dates have been announced yet. Currently, it is only expected to begin some time in 2019.
The cost for the same is yet to be released.
