This tour option is completely new and unique allowing tourists’ to actually go into a local family’s home and experience their lives and traditions firsthand. You will start off by going to the local market with the housewife to shop for the foods that will be prepared for the afternoon lunch. You will also get to go through family picture albums and other memorabilia as they tell you about their history, tradition, and culture.
Morning Excursion
In the morning, you will be welcomed by your friendly local host at your hotel. Start the greeting off right by saying ‘Xin Chao’, meaning ‘hello’. You will go for a short trip to your host’s house with the option of stopping at a vibrant local market to shop for produce and other foods that will be used in the preparation of lunch.
Once at your host’s house, you are encouraged to view the family’s photo albums as well sharing cultural experience with one another. You can also partake in the preparing and cooking of the traditional dishes that will be served during lunch.
Afterwards, you will go for a short walk to visit the family ancestral house where you will get the opportunity to learn about the customs associated with worship. After you will get to meet with an artist who currently holds the record for the most paintings exhibited on the street during our world famous Hue Festival.
Finally, you will get to enjoy the fruits of your labor by tasting and experiencing the traditional dishes for lunch. You will learn about the ingredients as well how to prepare each dish while having your lunch. You will also learn about the history of the dishes. At the end of the tour, you will return to your hotel or continue your trip.
(This excursion should start between 8:00 and 9:00 AM and finish around 1:00 PM).
Afternoon Excursion
You will start your tour off with a friendly welcome “Xin Chao” by your host at their home. You will be welcome to enjoy some green tea while being introduced to the entire family. You will get to indulge in a delicious well prepared lunch that features local specialties while relaxing in the comfortable family atmosphere. You will learn about the ingredients, the way to cook and prepare the dishes as well the history of the dishes.
After you will have the chance to interact with your hosts while they show you their family’s photo album and explain to you about their culture and traditions. It is highly encouraged at this time that you and your hosts exchange cultural experiences and differences with one another.
