Vienna is a wonderful city i visited. But now i will not speak about this, the atraction i had it was traffic light.
Nowhere you will see which one light is waiting to cross the street: for lesbians, gays, tradicional couples, or usual man stick.
As you know gay-themed pedestrian traffic lights after the flashing signals specially installed in Vienna for the Eurovision Song Contest proved a hit.
Instead of the usual stick man, the special lights at pedestrian crossings show two figures: either a man or a woman, two men or two women, holding hands, together with a little heart symbol.
Last year, bearded transvestite Conchita Wurst won the contest for Austria with the song Rise like a Phoenix and immediately became a global gay icon.
Dozens of pedestrian crossing lights in the heart of Vienna, Austria, feature same-sex couples that turn green for go and red for stop. The couples have hearts floating above their heads or stamped from their chests.
The campaign is intended to present Vienna as an open-minded city and also to improve traffic safety in the hope the unusual symbols will attract the attention of drivers and pedestrians, a spokesman for Vienna's city lighting department said.
The city of Vienna will then collate data to see whether the campaign has indeed helped traffic safety, he added.
This project was just for a Eurovision Song Contest. But seems its still continuing, cus even in september you cam see the same not tradicional traffic light.
