Once the night falls, this place become a deserted place from a tourist destination in a day. Rumor has it that the princess Ratnavati was very beautiful and the wizard, Singhiya, wanted to marry her. He was indulged into black magic so he decided to trick her. He prepared an enchanting potion to ensnare the princess. He tried to trick her and offered the potion to the 18 year old princess who then, threw it on the ground. As it fell onto the ground, it turned into a big boulder which crushed Singhiya, the wizard. Before dying, he cursed the fort that everyone residing in the fort will die and they will never reincarnate. Well, the people of Bhangarh still believe that the princess will reincarnate and will return to the village to end the curse.
Four men can be seen here, drinking and partying with just one candle. Earlier, people thought that they were humans but later, they found out that they were spirits. Some say that they have seen the spirit of a young girl, coming out of the house in red dress. The building houses many spirits.
Ghosts of the workers who died here during the construction roam here during night. Rumor has it that a student went there for his research during night and never returned. Also, newspapers are always found scattered on the tables every morning.
There have been reports that the forest that surrounds the school is haunted. People have seen a headless boy roaming in the forest and then, he diminishes suddenly. Legend has it that innumerable murders took place in the forest.
By day, it's a tourist destination but no one has the guts to go there during night. It is often called 'Baoli of the unseen' because it is said to be filled with black water once. Rumor has it that it attracted the depressed hearts towards itself and hypnotized them to jump into the water. Every time when it absorbed someone, the water level raised.
