Alex Dawson, a Swedish photographer, recently took photos of a whale graveyard which has been making rounds all over the internet. The viral picture was shot in Eastern Greenland, Denmark.

He won the first place in the wide-angle category of the Scuba Diving 2022 Underwater Photo Contest for the alluring shots of a whale graveyard that he discovered with his companion under a 3ft layer of ice in Denmark!

“As I got down under the ice on the first dive and my eyes started to adjust to the darkness, I was shocked that the whale carcass was so intact and huge. Anna, my friend, started diving around the whale bones, so I placed my external lift farther away to get some depth", the photographer said.

Through these pictures, Dawson has showed a completely new side of marine life to the world. Who would have thought of seeing a whale graveyard otherwise? He went through almost an hour swimming underneath the ice to get the chance to capture the epic shot.
