A lot has always been said about Goa. It has gone from being India’s ultimate party destination to be referred as too mainstream. Yes, commercialization may have spread its wings across Goa, but the saturation point is still nowhere in the picture.
The beauty of Goa lies in the fact that it can maintain a balance between both the types of tourists – the party animals and those who cherish solitude. It has something to offer to both these kinds. While we have heard and read a whole lot about the hip happening places in Goa, it is now the turn of unconventional destinations to take over.
If you too find Baga and Calangute to be over-crowded, head to Morjim. It has all the trappings of becoming your favourite beach in Goa. Cleaner, quieter and less congested, it will bring out a whole new side of Goa to you. Also, nothing is overpriced here so you can chug as many beers as you may like.
After spending a relaxing afternoon at Morjim, you can head straight to Arambol Beach for witnessing a majestic sunset. And as the night approaches, it becomes a hub for some of the coolest parties in town.
This place has been imprinted in our minds ever since Dil Chahta Hai came out. Every group has dreamt of getting clicked here. Despite becoming a common sight on social media, Chapora Fort is still cool and will remain so as long as the movie will.
Another destination popularised by a Bollywood film, Dudhsagar Falls is truly a nature’s wonder. No wonder we believed it to be a work of VFX in Chennai Express. Make sure to include this in your ‘places to visit in Goa’ list, otherwise you are in for a major disappointment.
For now, it is safe to say that Goa is like a bottle of wine, it only gets better with time.
