After hopelessly dawdling the entire day on the swing of the guest house we were staying at Anegundi (the village on the other side of Hampi), the serenity of the village didn’t let us sleep until midnight & extorted us to the lanes of Hampi.
As we began our journey, it felt like every element around us was trying to convey a message to us. The mysterious dark by-lanes we passed through told us that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel, all you have to do is trust your own self.
The walk took us to a placid lake. We lay down on the rocks next to the lake with our hands placed on our heads, as were glaring at the sky. The hard and uneven rock beneath seemed to reassure us that no matter how tough life gets, it gets easy when you have the best people around, just like I had my friend that day. The blanket of stars and moon that were following us seemed to tell us to enjoy the journey of life rather than worrying about the final destination. The sparkling stare of the still lake emphasized the importance of taking a step back and reflecting upon one’s life.
The tranquil rapture liberated us from the burden of expectations and responsibilities. We cracked upon our past decisions, cherished the present. not worrying of what the tempting future holds. We discovered that only when we throw ourselves into the unknown, do we discover ourselves more than ever before.
The magic of the night made us forget about worrying of our safety, our whereabouts, the next morning or for that matter, the rest of our lives. All we knew was ‘this moment ‘and we would not trade anything for this.
We were shaken back to reality by a call from our driver at 6am, when we were to leave for our next destination, Gokarna. We bid adieu to the place, promising not to return as we didn’t want to replace that magical night ever !!
P.S - We did not take any pictures that night, the one in the artice is taken from Google & edited
