I know it sounds cliche, but if you ever visit Udapir, PLEASE DO VISIT THE CITY PALACE. For one, you will get a vis-à-vis to the rich indian culture, and then you will be so immersed in the grandeur and ethnicity of thet palace, that you won't help but search for your prince in front of the palace. If you are with a group of people, please do hire a guide.
Explore the city on your own, just leave your hostel/hotel and start roaming around this beautiful and trust me you won't be disappointed. Do not forget your camera, a power bank and a water bottle. i
I am not exaggerating when I saw that Udaipur is any photographer's and a model's wet dream. With every wall, every door offering a different story. I even found the leathers shops so aesthetic and the locals are kind enough to let us sit in their shops or houses to click numerous photos.
One of the most beautifully located water bodies that I have seen till now and trust me I have seen many of them. Even though it is located in the outskirts of the old Udaipur (that's where we stayed),we hired an auto and went on the short hike to reach there. The best time is to visit during the sun rise. Make sure to travel in a group there, it is located in a secluded area with no authority nearby.
