One of the most awe-inspiring natural wonders in Northern Ireland, "The Giant’s Causeway".
There are countless myths and legends surrounding the Causeway.Well the myths are very interesting about Giant named Finn McCool and Benandonner.
Perhaps a less interesting explanation the scientific approach dictates that the Giant’s Causeway was first formed over 60 million years ago and was created following a period of volcanic activity, where the lava cooled and formed these incredible interlocking basalt columns. Each column is near-perfectly hexagonal in shape; a lasting reminder of the power of the world’s natural beauty.
A must visit in Northern Ireland 😊
The Dark Hedges originated in 18th century. This beautiful avenue of beech trees was planted by the Stuart family .It was intended as a compelling landscape feature to impress visitors as they approached the entrance to their Georgian mansion, "Gracehill House".
Trees have developed much more since that period and the twisted branches have grown high over the road forming a tunnel like effect for the passing traffic underneath.
Dark hedges is one of the most photographed natural phenomena in Northern Ireland. In fact, the iconic trees have been used as a filming location in HBO's epic series Game of Thrones®, representing the Kingsroad.
We loved this Magical Forest with bridges, trees, creeks and surprises!😍
The Forest is beautiful and with the Mourne Mountains ⛰️as a backdrop it is quite spectacular.
Streams, stepping stones, small Waterfalls and natural stone bridges add to it's grandeur. 😊
Kids loved the beautiful gardens ,play area, stunning scenery and walk along the river . It was hard for them to say goodbye specially to "STEPPING STONES".🤗
Well this location has also been used as a filming location in HBO's epic series GOT.
