Day 2

Most of us work from Monday till Friday, and always want to take a short break on Saturday, such that the break won't consume our entire weekend, but we also get some time to relax on Sunday.

So to all such people, Chikkaballapur district has amazing places. There are so many hills. Of which, Nandi hills, Skandagiri, Avati betta, Avala betta are few of them. Today I am not talking about the hills but I am talking about a Dam. Yes, it does have a beautiful dam named "Dhandigana Halli Dam".

Since, COVID-19 outbreak is very huge in Bangalore City, I was indoor for quite a long time and one of my dear friend WhatsApp'ed me asking if I was intrested to go on a drive. Ofcourse, even I was wanting for a break from the normal work schedule, inturn a safe drive outside Bangalore City.

Four of us agreed on the plan. The climate was gloomy since quite a few days in Bangalore, and when we checked the weather forecast for Saturday in Chikkaballapur, we got to know that the weather there was likely to be similar to Bangalore.

I work till late night. So my friends decided to start here by 9 AM and not too early. We started from Malleshwaram around 9.30 AM. Ofcourse, we had taken all safety measures. We had sanitized our car, worn our masks, carried water bottles, and sanitizer.

Our first stop was at Shell Petrol Station , where we picked up some snacks from the convenience store.

We went to Nandi Upachar on National Highway to have our breakfast as we had heard they are maintaining the food hygiene in Covid times and kept their environment clean for the people to feel safe. I personally felt even the washrooms were clean. Again risk is everywhere, but we were taking a chance. The food was good and the service was fast.

We then drove towards the dam. Just when we were 200 meters away from the dam, we saw few of the fellow cars taking U-turn and then we noticed police men there who were sending back the people restricting them from going to the dam. We were not that disappointed as we enjoyed the climate and the drive more. But, we also enquired the police men if there was any other place we could visit near by. They said we can go visit "Srinivasa Sagara" which was hardly some km from there. I also noticed some whole lot of Marigold plants and I was very excited to click a picture in between those flowers. The owners of the field were busy plucking the flowers. I got their permission to click some pictures and I must say they were too sweet(I am too sweet for them to deny my request. Just kidding). They also offered me some flowers to take home and I inturn helped them to pluck some flowers. It was indeed satisfying.

Then we went to Srinivas Sagara. There is a temple where you can take blessings from Lord Srinivasa. There is a bridge over the river. You can stand there and enjoy the panoramic view. The place was really peaceful with no crowd and just us. It was absolutely scenic and blissful. We spent some time there enjoying the view and chitchatting. Then, we started our way back to Bangalore. We reached home around 4.30 PM thus ending our beautiful short relaxing road trip.
