My fifth visit to Coorg was last month and it still doesn't fail to surprise me. I'll give a brief itinerary to help you guys plan for your next weekend getaway.

Coorg has something for everyone and thus a perfect destination. I loved it when I came all the way from Delhi to karnataka for the first time. Clean roads, pleasant weather and a trail of palm tress. We went in monsoon season and frequent showers made my soul happy. Back in Delhi the temperatures were soaring and this was a nice change.

For the nature enthusiast :-

Abbey Falls >

Located amidst coffee plantations and spice estates, should be visited during monsoon season. Otherwise the falls could be very disappointing. Going near the falls is strictly prohibited. The falls are a part of River Kaveri.

For the trekker in you :-

Coorg is a wonderland for trek enthusiast like me. It has some of the best treks in Western ghats. There are many tour operators who organise weekend treks to coorg from Bangalore like Bangalore mountaineering club etc.

Nishani Motte, Brahamgiri, Tadiandamol, Kumara Parvata are some of the well known treks that can be done over a weekend.

For the animal lover :-

It's an elephant camp situated on the banks of river Kaveri. Tourist can bathe and feed the elephants here. Or like me, you can just watch the ongoing activities and click pictures. The place also provides rafting facility but I haven't tried cause it didn't look promising enough.

For the Adventurer :-

Water Rappelling

Coorg is also a place to try various adventure activities like Water rappelling, Camping, Trekking, Quad biking, rock climbing, Rafting, Canoeing etc.

There are several tour organisers who plan these activities for a group or individual.

Feel free to comment to let me know if there is something I should try on my next trip to coorg.

Keep Travelling !!!
