We booked a taxi for 5 people and drove to Avani temple and Kolar temple near Bangalore. It was a day trip and our original plan was to head to the Kaigal falls a little ahead of kolar but we were advised against it. With the help of googlemaps we made our way to first Avani. Avani is a small town close to Kolar gold mines. We even managed to squeeze in a small trek to Antar gange which is a mountain of boulders. You have to trek a little to get to the temple there and you can continue trekking from behind the temple to get a view of the region. It was quite hot when we went so we didn't venture very far but it is an adventure worth trying. It is also famous for a lot of night treks that happen in the region.
