Started from Mumbai to Pune via Shivneri Bus. After a brief stop at Pune at a fellow traveller's friend we proceeded the next morning for Kamalgad in his car. Approximately 3- 3.5 hr drive from Pune along the NH4 highway. Parked the car at the base village and proceeded on foot. A 4 hour trek to the top of the mountain where you are greeted by a small temple. We settled down at this place, set up our tent and started exploring the place. Packed with a amazing view of the mountain, it is a dream spot for an avid photographer. A small water stream is located at about 15-20min away from the trekking spot in the forest. Clear sky at night and great weather. Great memories. Suggested for new trekkers.
Suggested Travel period: Winters and trekking during summers can prove tiresome.
