This lake is one of the greatest attraction of Meghalaya, It comes on the way to Guwahati to Shillong spread over large area of amidst hills. Umiam is one of the biggest artificial lakes in Meghalaya.
The place is very beautiful and if you want get rid of hustle-bustle of city for some time this place is for you.
One thing you must tried over there is Meghalaya traditional Kasi people dressing near the lake area.
The big attraction is the Sunset is stunner as a traveler I have visited so many lakes during sunset time but in my opinion this is the best one till now.
