I left the house at 9.45 pm and reached Andheri station by 10.30 pm. I was then waiting for my friends to come from Dahisar so we could go together and then reached the pick up point by 11.25 pm. However the bus was delayed and instead of arriving at 11.15 pm it arrived only at 11.55 pm!
We then left Andheri and picked up the rest of the trekkers on different pick up points across the highway before finally heading out of Mumbai towards the base village.
We reached the base village by 4.30 am and started trekking at 5.00 am. We stopped for a snack at around 6.00 am at the Ganesh Temple on the way. The snack was just a banana and bread and cheese spread or jam.
We then headed onto the next stop point - a small village called Chowk and we ate poha for breakfast which was freshly prepared by a village local along with tea!
We then kept heading upwards and on the way encountered a steep upward climb, a jungle, waterfalls and amazing views of the mountains! My heart as usual was at peace!
We reached the temple by 12 pm and had one hour to go and pay our respects. However with the queue being so long we decided that we would just pay our respects from outside as it would take 2.5 hours in the queue which would delay our descent.
We were done by 1.30 pm and I picked up some Prasad for my family before heading to Ashok Hotel for lunch! We then decided to descend by 2 pm and reached the base village by 6 pm.
However we left only by 8 pm as a few of the other trekkers were still on their way down.
We reached Bhandup at 11.00 pm and I caught the 11.15 pm slow train from Nahur back home!
This trek was organised by Dark Green Adventures headed by Krishna Khuya who is such a lovely trek leader and a beautiful soul! I'm so grateful I decided to trek with them again the first one being Irshalgad Fort which was a night trek!
