Day 2

Only a 2-hour drive from Paro, Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan is the most happening town of the country. Here, you can give your honeymoon a touch of fun, frolic and party!

Things to do in Thimphu:

This is a 51m gigantic statue of Buddha that faces the entry to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. An awe-inspiring structure that is one of the most sacred places of the town. 

Is the secretariat of Bhutan, which houses the offices of all the major ministers of Bhutanese government. The Dzong is beautiful, and a major attraction during festivals during which, you may even catch a glimpse of the royal family. 

This is one of the most happening places in town, which is always bubbling with life. A huge amphitheater where concerts and performances take place , open for everyone to enjoy. You can simply sit here and watch the day turn into the night with your spouse. 

- Numerous pubs around the town like Mojo Park, Jimmy's Pub and The Zone are also must visit. Here you can enjoy good live music or Karaoke over drinks and food.

Day 3

Another few hours from Thimphu lies a quieter valley called Punakha which is yet another great destination to spend a cozy honeymoon at.

Things to do in Punakha:

This is a riverside 'Palace of Happiness' which was built in the 17th century. Built on the banks of the Punakha Chhu, this is the hotspot for all tourists. The Dzong will give you opportunity to observe Bhutanese architecture and Buddhism, in case you're interested. 

This historical Buddhist monastery dates back to 1499. This monastery was built in the honor of Lama Drukpa Kunley after he subdued the demoness of the nearby Dochu La with his 'magic thunderbolt of wisdom'. If you're love myths and legends, this monastery is ideal for you. 

This mighty temple was built by the current Queen Mother and stands as an exemplum of Bhutanese architecture. 

- For a relaxed time, you can also chill and picnic by the banks of Punakha river.

Day 4

Next up, is Bhutan's prettiest hidden gem, the Haa Valley, which is nestled between mighty green hills. The drive to the valley is surreal and will take you through thick dense forests. Scarcely populated, this is the ideal place to just spend time with your spouse, hiking wherever the hills take you.
