My trip covered places like Lachung, Gangtok, Phelling, Darjaleeing. My entire trip and experience has been amazing. Each day was so refreshing and the mindblowing views through out the journey will makes anyone's eyes pop out. I had this opportunity to go above 15,000 feet high. The chilled weather and gasping view will take your mind out for a ride. You will feel the peace at the core and will find yourself melted in your imaginary thoughts. From the fast paced city life this place has everything that will surprise you. You have all the beautiful monestries on the way where you can relax again with some catch views of Kanchenjunga (third highest mountain in the world). If you want to view the real beauty of the Himalayas then explore this place in summers. If you are looking for snow and experience the chilled version of it then Jan to Feb is the peak time. I covered this place in the month of May and still i felt its pretty cold.
Nathu la, Rumtak Monestry, Gurudongmar lake, Phodang Monestry, Dzongu, Yumthang, Changu lake, Samdruste, Solophok, Yuksam are the places you should never miss. Your eyes will have all the soothing views for ever stored up in your memories. If you love photography and want to capture these moments,I would suggest everyone should carry a DSLR or equally good camera. For the accommodation and you are looking for Posh stay, you would find it only in Gangtok city where you can do a bit of shopping and grab something good to eat. The road to Darjaleeng is another view which you should not miss. Its all surrounded by Tea plantation, which is simply amazing to view from your side windows. You can also buy raw tea powder from these estates.I would suggest to carry along some guide with you always or if you can get a good driver then nothing like it. There is landslides that happens every time, so its better to travel with someone who is familiar with local conditions. Carry some thick woolen dresses when you are covering high range areas. Nearest Airport is Bagdogara, you have flight services to this place from all metro cities.You will get the guides, taxi drivers all in airport premises itself.Most of the above mentioned places have accommodation, but not everyone will be comfortable staying in those conditions. Best is to cover up the places in the day time and come back to the hotel by evening.
