Here is a list of activities you can try whether you're new to the city or have been postponing your adventure plans.

Scuba Diving

Scuba is an abbreviation for Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus, in other words, equipment to allow us to breathe underwater. This is perhaps the best way to unravel the mysteries of the ethereal underwater world. Malvan is the hub of water activities. Other than for recreational purposes, enthusiasts can even learn to scuba dive and become instructors!

Unlike scuba diving where you dive under the water and experience marine life closely, snorkelling is the practice of swimming at the surface of the water body. Coral reefs, sea urchins and many other aquatic life forms can be observed this way.

Jet Skiing

As the name suggests, this fast boat ride is a very popular recreational activity and is a major tourist attraction in Mumbai. Mandwa, Alibag, Kihim Beach and Girgaum Chowpatty Beach are popular locations. Usually, it is pursued as a one-time activity, but one can also do a course in jet skiing.

Powered Paragliding

Powered paragliding or paramotoring involves the flying of light weight aircrafts in which the pilot wears a motor on his back, which provides the required lift to take off using a paraglider without any assistance. This one is not to be missed by adrenaline junkies. Para-motor flight is almost as if you're riding a bike in the sky. Despite the short duration of the flight, the rider will cherish memories of being 500 feet above the ground and the panoramic views of the city. Thrill seekers can head over to Vasai for the adventure.

Best time to do it: November to March is the ideal time. Avoid summer and monsoon as it can ruin your flight.

White Water Rafting

White water rafting is a recreational activity done in rough waters, which uses an inflatable raft to navigate the river. Kundalika River in Kolad offers tumultuous white waters, which makes it suitable for river rafting. Flowing over the mountains of the Sahyadris, it makes up for a stunning getaway adventure.

Best time to do it: June to March are ideal for visiting the area. Monsoons are the most beautiful here, while winters are very pleasant. March to May is too hot and sultry and hence should be avoided.

Glass Walking

Walking barefoot on broken glass pieces is not for someone with a faint heart. This activity is great for someone who loves challenges. Proper feet movements are taught so that one doesn't hurt their feet. It is a great activity to teach your mind and body to remain calm and patient.

Sea Kayaking

A kayak is a low-to-the-water, canoe-like boat in which the paddler sits facing forward, legs in front, using a double-bladed paddle to pull front-to-back on one side and then the other in rotation. Kayaking is a great sport not only for adventure purposes, but also for fitness. Mandwa is a haven for kayaking and canoeing activities.

ATV Riding

All terrain vehicles (ATV) or quad bikes are pretty fun to ride. As the name suggests, it can run on any terrain. Della Adventure Park provides the same where one can indulge in driving without any traffic rules and without caring about the terrain they are driving on.

Flying Fox

Zip-lining or flying fox is an activity with a cable or rope stretched between two points of different heights, down which a person slides for amusement by means of a suspended harness, pulley or handle. The flying fox at Della Adventure is the longest in the country at 1,250 feet. Harnessed onto a cable, the ride loops to the other end at a massive speed which is enough to send a chill down your spine.

Bungee Jumping
