This was the story of 2018 . . I did lot of travel in that particular year. Kedarnath temple visit was in my agenda for so long. Every year I use too plan. But not everything is in your hand. Because you can just plan. You will go or not everything will decide by Lord shiva.
In the year 2013 there was a massive flood in that region. Everyone knows about that. So there were some fear as well To go there. Like as always I approach to my younger brother for this.He is my travel buddy. he always be my side. And Trust upon my decision. Kedarnath temple open for just six months in a year. Because of extreme weather conditions in this Himalayan region. We had 4 days for this trip. There is no railway network there in Uttrakhand much.
As I live close to delhi. There are much option We have to reach haridwar first. We got a bus from delhi to haridwar. It was around 5 to 6 hour ride.
If someone want to visit deeper in Uttrakhand then haridwar Or dehradun can be a starting point. Himalayan mountain range start from here. Around 2 am in the night we reached the haridwar. Next whole day we need to travel to reach base of Kedarnath temple treak.
We started our journey from haridwar to gaurikund. Our bus timing was 5 o'clock in the morning. There were no direct bus to gaurikund. We changed 3 bus to reach gaurikund. First bus from haridwar to rudraprayag second bus from rudraprayag to guptkashi , then third bus from guptkashi to gaurikund. Around 7 O clock We reached the gaurikund. We did around 14 hour bus ride.
We took a room in a hotel there for a night. Had our meal & sleep .
Next day We started our treak early morning 6 O clock. It was around 16 to 18 kilometer treak. Someone said start your treak early so that you can reach before evening. It was a a day long treak. Once you cover some kilometer treak become beautiful. In the way you find so many waterfalls. Good things is that there is no much commercially. You didn't get much hotel, restaurant. Etc. This is the highlight. You completely in the lap in nature. During the way there were a snow fall. But we didn't stop. We found a frozen lake as well. Once you saw the Kedarnath temple all your tiredness, your worries became disappeared . Temprature was in minus there We reached around 7 there at the temple. We went inside the temple We stayed around an hour inside the temple.
We stayed in a dharamshala there. Cold waa insane there. We were so tired after the meal We slept.
In the morning We woke up around 7 o'clock. We got shower and went to the temple again..
This was the best morning I ever had. I was at the temple. I can see everything very clear. The Himalaya. Beautiful Kedarnath temple, positivity, blessings, vibes etc. We roam & saw some old caves near the temple. Had breakfast in the temple premises. (Prasaad ) around 12 O clock afternoon We decided to go down. It's little bit easy to go down. Around 8 we reached gaurikund. The starting point of the treak. It took 7 to 8 hour to reach down. At gaurikund.
We had the same room which We book yesterday night. We were not that much tired this. We were much energetic. We thought We can go back to delhi. But in Uttrakhand public transport buses don't work in night. That's why we stayed in same hotel.
Next morning got a bus till rudraprayag. Reach here around 12 o'clock. He had our lunch here then got another bus to haridwar & reach haridwar by 9 O clock had our dinner in haridwar & got next & final bus to my hometown ghaziabad close to delhi early morning by 6 We were at home. It was hectic but worthy trip . There in no luxury in such trip you can understand how many buses We changed to reach Kedarnath . You need to be strong physically and Mantally. Helicopter ride is available you can reach from gaurikund to temple in 15 to 20 minutes. If you treak by food then it will take a whole day. Choice is your.
If you have less time then at least you ride a helicopter ride. It will save your time & energy.
Coming down you can do from the temple to gaurikund. You can see how beautiful is the treak by going down.
If someone is planning then October & November is the best month. First reach at haridwar Or dehradun . . . Wherever you wanna visit in Uttrakhand like badrinath,kedarnath ,gangotri ,yamnotri velly of flower,hemkund sahib gurudwara auli, etc (haridwar & dehradun )is the starting point. These two places connected from roads, railway, air .
