Be part of the historic Burma Winter Festival, 2016. Explore a small town in Arunachal Pradesh called Miao. Drive on the famous Stillwell Road to get on to Pangsau Pass in Myanmar (Burma). Uncover history through World War II sites, Tibetan Refugee Camps, Churches and Monasteries. Indulge in the natural beauty of Miao, Namdapha National Park and beautiful lakes that define this small town. Learn the art of weaving and local cooking in tribal villages.

What's planned: Travel Itinerary from January 21 to January 27, 2016 (6 nights/ 7 days)

21st January: Drive from Dibrugarh to Miao. We will stay in Namdapha Jungle Camp 22nd January: Drive on Stillwell road to Nampong town. Visit Pangsau Pass winter festival and drive to Myanmar (Burma). Visit "lake of no return" and World War II Cemetray. Drive back to Miao. 23rd January: We drive to the Namsai District, and spend the day at local monasteries, Parshuram Kund and Pagoda24th January: We will visit Tibetan refugee camps. These camps are known for their carpet weaving. Learn a trick or two on how to make some gorgeous tribal carpets. Later, we will drive to local tribal villages. These inculde New Yumchum village, which is inhabited by Longchang Sub tribe and Maithingpung village, which is home to Tikhak sub tribe. Take workshops in Bamboo weaving.25th January: We will take lessons in local North East cooking, along with a visit to the local market. On the same day, we will drive to Namdapha National Park. Our stay will be at Deban forest guest house. 26th January: Enjoy the fanfare of Republic Day celebration at Miao General Grounds. Here’s our chance to see different ethnic cultural troops showcasing their traditions. On the same day, we will drive back to Miao to visit some historic and gorgeous churches. On the same day, 27th January: Visit to Oil India Museum before we leave for Dibrugarh.

This unexplored town is full of surprises. It has it all history, art, nature, forests, churches, pagodas... And is the closest to the road that opens up to Burma
