Jaisalmer is a must go trip from November to February. You will feel a pleasant weather in the daytime and a bit cold in the night. Don't worry cold is not going to bother you much in the night as well. Though it would be a 12hr drive from Delhi ideally.
Hats off to the Rajasthan Govt. for the redefining roads through out the journey from Delhi to Jaisalmer. You have various itinerary to Jaisalmer. You can Go Via Jaipur-Puskar-Jaisalmer or you can go by Gurgaon-Sikkar-Bikaner-Jaisalmer. My Recommendation would be the Later one.
You'll have to cover 802kms from Gurgaon to Jaisalmer. You wil the roads and the views are absolutely mesmerizing. You'll get to see the totally different culture of Rajasthan. Please remember to take NH-48 from Gurgaon to Chandwaji and NH-11 from Sikkar to Jaisalmer.
This is Jaisalmer Fort. It was constructed on a deadly mountain called MERU by Maharaj Jaisal Singh. The fort's massive yellow sandstone walls are a tawny lion color during the day, fading to honey-gold as the sun sets, thereby camouflaging the fort in the yellow desert.
An architectural wonder of the bygone era, Patwon Ki Haveli is one of the main attractions that one can look for in the city of Jaisalmer. The Patwon Ki Haveli is a cluster of five small Havelis, the exteriors of which are dipped in an enchanting shade of gold.
Just down by the road from Patwon ki Haveli there is a Horse Farm where you can have your pictures clicked with them. Rajasthan is a Paradise for the Local Culture Shopping and You will also see people with soulful voice presenting the Rajasthani Folk songs to you by reciting your name.
It is up-to you to have a guide there. You can go by your own or you can hire the guide as well. Guide won't charge more than INR 100-200. Just do not forget to take a camera with you over there or you're gonna miss some of the best man made art and crafts.

You have to spare a night for visiting SAM Dunes. You will get hundreds of Packages for the Desert Safari and night camping from the Hotel Owners in the Jaisalmer . I usually travel on my own so i have inquired myself for the packages. A bundle of squids and Guides will follow you for the packages.
You can do Desret Safari and Camping inclusive Hotel charges for the first day at Jaisalmer within INR 4000-5000. Please go for the Desert safari. It is a thrilling experience with lot of googlies happening in your stomach.
Your Safari will leave you at a particular spot in desert where you can have your refreshments and also you can take the camel safari ad click some good pictures with camel and Desert. You can have your night stay in the Tents and you could enjoy the Traditional Food and Dance Shows.
Second Option is you can stay in Desert Dunes as well. The Camel man will take few tourist with them in the desert for the night camping . He will provide you the sleeping bag to sleep. He will cook the food for you and will provide you the other refreshments.
At a distance of 1.5 km from Jaisalmer Railway Station and 1.5 km from Jaisalmer Fort, Gadisar Lake or Gadsisar Lake is an artificial reservoir in Jaisalmer. It was the only source of water for the Jaisalmer city in the olden days and also one of the best Jaisalmer sightseeing places.
The Gadisar Lake was constructed by Raja Rawal Jaisal, the first ruler of Jaisalmer and later reconstructed by Maharawal Gadsi Singh. It is said this rain water lake once provided water to the entire town. At present Gadisar Lake gets water from Indira Gandhi Canal so it never dry.
The Gadisar Lake can be visited any time of the day, though it is best to go early in the morning and watch the sun rise. Boating facility is also available in this lake where charges vary from type of boat and based on duration of boating.
Though We were unable to cover almost 60% of places as we were short of days. Other Places to visit are : Laungewala Post, Tanod Mata Mandir, Desert National Park, Pokran, Tazia Tower, Kuldhara, Nathmal ki Haveli, Jaisalmer War Museum.
