Beyond parties in Goa, a relaxing vacation

Tripoto

What does Goa mean to you? Party, Beaches, Food, Wine, Casino, Disco, Cafes, Sunsets,Beaches,Boats,Greenery, waterfall, the list just goes on and on . Aptly an ideal tourist location, Goa has something for all. I was going back to Goa after 9 years, the last time I was there, I had spent 2 months in South Goa doing an internship in a company in Vasco. This time I had two things in mind: enjoying sometime in solitude, revisiting the secluded places I had been to during my last visit. This will be useful for people who want to spend sometime on their own, far from the maddening crowd.

Road from Anjuna to Panjim

Being a travel blogger, let me give you a travel tip: always begin planning a trip by downloading a map of the place, especially if you are planning a trip to an International destination. This will help you to plan your stay, places to see, local conveyance ideas, places to eat, climate etc. In short it will not only save you some cash but also will help you plan your vacation really well.As far as Goa goes, it has a huge coast line and roughly is divided into North and South Goa. Both the areas have their own charm but definitely North Goa is more commercial and has better facilities than South Goa.If this is your first trip you would love to be in North Goa.

Day 1:

I had taken an overnight bus from Bangalore . The bus had started at midnight and had dropped me on Mapusa-Panjim highway.I had booked 2 places to stay near Anjuna, one for first 2 days and another for the other 2 days.(You should try and change hotels, for better experience and cleaner beds). The idea of Anjuna was that it is a little secluded beach with all amenities.I had also booked bike online through Ziphop so just wanted to reach my hotel without spending a lot.You get a bus from the highway to Mapusa bus stand and then from there you can board another bus to Anjuna. I reached my stay by 2 pm and was happy by the view and great food. I had lunch, rested a bit and took a walk to Anjuna Beach which was about 1.5km away.

I am more of a book and tea person, and wanted to just sit and enjoy the sunset .Anjuna Beach offers a lot of cafes to just sit and enjoy the view. I went to Lobos Cafe . The evening had a usual beach like feeling, everyone was busy doing their stuff. This is the best thing about beaches, it offers so much space to everyone. I sipped my cup of tea and clicked some breathtaking sunset photographs.Post sunset, my idea was to sit and sip some wine at a place near to my stay. I landed a jackpot by stepping into Luna’s Cafe, good wine and great food at affordable prices.

Day 2:

The first thing I did was to get the avenger from the bike rental place.Once I had the bike, everything was possible. I had opened up the google page to explore lesser known beaches near Anjuna and I hit the jackpot, I found Ozran Beach also known as small Vagator. When i reached the beach, there were very few people on the beach. I knew this was a lesser known beach just by the fact that it had just one cafe.I was happy, nothing like having a beach to yourself. The cafe had good shacks to rest and good food. This was it, spent good time here.

I really wanted to get a top view of the beaches and Chapora Fort is definitely the place I wanted to be at.It was a pleasant place to wander that offers fantastic views north across the Chapora river to Pernem, south over Vagator and also far out to the Arabian Sea in the West.Quiet a diverse view for one place alone,I found my space and observed. In the evening I just wanted to take a long ride to one of the beaches.I chose Arambol which was 19kms away and the ride was really good. I returned back to Anjuna Beach for dinner.Anjuna Beach has a very happening cafe called Cafe Liliput but given my nature I moved further off to a quiet cafe with the waves almost touching the base, what an experience it was to sip beer with water at my foot.

Day 3

No trip is complete without lazing around.Today was hotel changing day, I moved to other place(Bay Luxe) close to Anjuna. As I entered the place, I realized there was a pool infront of my room, that was it, it was time to get in water and relax. I opened the map and found a German Bakery at walking distance. This is the authentic German Bakery and the only one in Goa.If you are in an around Anjuna, you must not miss this place, grab a coffee, relax.

Day 4

A day I was looking forward to, today I took the ride from North Goa to South Goa. I had one beach in mind, very less known, secluded and amazingly scenic. Hollant Beach is a secluded beach close to the airport and very less people know about it. The ride is also awesome, this is one good place to pack a lunch, chill and spend a day. The major attraction is that this beach offers one km of shore line with pool like water and nominal waves. This is the place to come and play a game of water polo with your friends.I had booked a flight next day early morning, this gave me 4 full days in Goa.
