Towards Mysore Road -

If you are looking just to get out for a bike ride/drive this is the side to head as there are loads of spots here.

  • Overview: Kanva reservoir is for anyone whose looking for a quite getaway on mysore road,popular amongst nature lovers and bird watchers,there isn't a lot to do here in terms of activities,rather chill out here for a couple of hours,head to grips for gokarting/atv and then off to kamath hotel on Mysore road and back to Bangalore.

Rasta cafe (Mysore Road):

  • Overview: One of the most famous night drive/hangout spot amongst college goers/it crowd,rasta cafe is an awesome place an hours drive from Bangalore with its beautiful gardens and outside seating. Place gets a little crowded during weekends,some times waiting time might get to more than hour.
  • Distance From Bangalore : 50 km
  • Type : Night drive,chill out,hookah.
  • Food: Food is priced a little higher than average restaurants/cafes.
  • Transport : own Transport recommended,

Maddur Cafe Coffee Day :

  • Overview: This cafe coffee day was the first night drive/morning drive spot .It is still quite popular among those travelling towards Mysore side.Nothing special but just a nice ride and a nice spot to chill out and have coffee.
  • Distance From Bangalore : 50- 55 km

Ramnagaram(Sholay Hills) :

  • Overview : Famous for the ending scene in sholay,ramarbetta hills is a nice trekking spot in ramnagara. This is among the less popular places to visit near Bangalore so fewer shops around,might get hot in summers.

  • Overview: The Manchinabele Dam, surrounded by deciduous forests and rocky hills. Another Ideal spot for week end trip from Bangalore to enjoy trekking, swimming, rock climbing.Place is not open to public at all times.

  • Overview: Devrayanadurga is situated 65 kms North of Bangalore in Tumkur district. Situated at 4000 feet, Devrayanadurga temple hosts ancient Narsimhaswamy temple facing east and many viewpoints en route.

  • Overview:This hillock is located about 60 kms from Bangalore towards Magadi about 1200 mtrs tall. There are 2 hills Billi Betta ( White Hill ) and Kari Betta ( Black Hill). To trek up the hill and back it easily takes about 4 hours, ideal to start early as afternoons can get really hot in summers.

HOGNEKKAL:

  • Overview : Nicknamed the 'Niagara of India',Hognekkal is one of the most famous tourist spots near Bangalore famous for medicinal baths and hide boat rides. Place gets a little crowded during weekends and is comparitively not very clean.

Lepakshi :

  • Overview : Lepakshi is a small village in Mandal in the Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh, India. It is located 15 km (9.3 mi) east of Hindupur and approximately 120 km (75 mi) north of Bangalore.
  • Distance From Bangalore : 120-130 km.
