I have been to Goa about 5 times now, my experience extends to visiting different parts of this beautiful tropical destination, I have realized the most important aspect of making a hotel booking in Goa is the location. On my last visit to South Goa, I zeroed down to Sobit Sarovar Portico in Palolem. Let me tell you why it's an ideal choice in detail:

Spacious Room and The Gorgeous View Of The Pool

There are 48 rooms in the property, situated either on the ground or the first floor. The rooms are uniform and are quite spacious catering to every need of leisure or a Business Traveller. The room has a balcony overlooking the gigantic pool which is just a great spot for your morning or evening tea.

One thing I dearly miss from the trip here is taking a dip in the pool since this was a leisure holiday, we spent a considerable amount time in the pool (when we were not at the beach, we were probably in the pool)

The leisurely pool and Portuguese architecture of the property

There are more than 15 lounge chairs perfect to take a dip and get a tan. This was a favourite spot amongst all the guests at the property. The bar is accessible if you like to sip on a cocktail and read your favourite book! Also, did I mention, it's an Instagram friendly spot AT the property? Relaxing Yellow lounge chairs, blue Sky, a chilled cocktail and an inviting pool made our day and our Instagram feed a happy one!

Food and Restaurant

Being a vegetarian, I have faced issues finding good veg food in the past when in Goa, of course in the last few years, Goa has seen a wide range of new restaurants. At Sobit Sarovar Portico, the food was commendable at a reasonable price.

They had both; buffet and ala-carte options. We tried the buffet for lunch and we're really happy with the variety they served across the main course, appetizers and desserts. They also have a live Pasta counter which is ideal for me who loves to customize the ratio between the spaghetti and veggies! The buffet cost ranged from Rs. 450 - 550 which was a good deal. We tried the ala-carte meal for dinner which again was a big thumbs up, I would surely recommend their pan Asian options.

Amenities and Hospitality

Apart from the outdoor pool, the property also has a fitness centre if you're looking at hitting the gym. I believe they also have a spa which is going to launched soon for everybody looking to add the cherry on the cake by getting a relaxing massage. There is a bar right across the pool and also in the restaurant. They have live music each night in the restaurant which was definitely a big plus! We experienced a Bollywood night and Goan cultural music night.

The staff is super hospitable, they are warm and welcoming. They were very helpful in guiding us our way to the beach and restaurants around. They are always more than happy to recommend things to do around the property. A shoutout to Mr. Terrance Motha for the brilliant management here.

Location and Things to Do Around The Property

Unless you are going for a staycation or a weekend getaway, the location of a hotel is crucial, your itinerary and trip is planned keeping in mind where you'd be staying. Sobit Sarovar Portico is situated in the heart of South Goa. Palolem beach is merely a 5-minute walk and this ought to be the most important factor for our visit! Spending considerable time at the beach is a major chunk on the itinerary for the day when In Goa ????

What we personally loved is that the Palolem market starts right outside the property and stretches all the way to the beach, so while you are on your way to witness a gorgeous sunset, do spare a few minutes to check out different shops showcasing some cool Goa stuff which is difficult to spot otherwise. Dresses, swimsuits, kaftans, jewellery, shorts, there are a bunch of fun things you would find worthy of shopping.

There are also a bunch very interesting restaurant and cafes serving a variety of cuisines, pretty interiors and vibrant touch to it. We recommend taking a stroll on the market Street in the evenings after sunset to soak in the culture.

South Goa has slowly become my preferred part of Goa and Sobit Sarovar Portico may just have played a role in this ????

P.S: We'd love to go back to experience the calmness, surreal view in South Goa and relax by the lounge chair at Sobit Sarovar Portico while sipping on our Cosmos and reading a gripping mystery fiction! This, in a nutshell, is why this resort in South Goa should be on your bucket list. We would love for you to to drop by on our Instagram page. Until next time, #StayCurious ????
