I have been a regular visitor of Corbett National Park from last 14 years. The place has changed a lot since my first visit still leaves me surprise every time I visit there. It was way back in 1998 when I first went to Corbett to Garjia Devi temple on a school visit from Bareilly. I didn't realise that time that this place would actually become my second home.

I have stayed in almost all the good resorts ranging from budget to luxury in different zones of Corbett. In my initial days, I only knew that Dhikuli is Corbett as most of the resorts were in that area only. Later I came to know resorts near Jhirna gate which was altogether a different experience. Then I had stayed in Bakhrakot, Marchula, Mohan and Kyari. These are some areas which keep on coming during my visits to corbett.

Most of my stays have been in Corbett Wild Iris Spa and Resort in Kyari.

This time I came to know of a different place called Kotabagh which is around 30 kms from main city of Ramnagar. Since in monsoon most of the park is closed, I thought of checking this new place Gazaari Greenz Resort in Kotabagh. I was pretty excited for this trip as I was again going to explore a new place in Corbett.

I started early from Delhi around 5AM and taking a break for tea in Gajraula reached Ramnagar by 11 AM. The good thing about this drive this time was the road stretch from Moradabad to Thakurdwara is in a much better shape now.

We were welcomed by some heavy rain in Ramanagar which was a bit tensed moment for us as we have experienced in the past about the blockage of road to some resorts during rains because of monsoon streams.

When we called the Gazaari Greenz Resort, we were told that we can reach the resort without any trouble. We crossed Ramnagar dam and started moving on the road which goes towards Kaladhungi Nainital. After travelling for around 15 kms we reached the place called Bailparao from where we have to take a left turn for Kotabagh. Kotabagh was around 15 kms more from this left turn. This stretch from Bailparao was an extremely beautiful drive. After 5 kms we reached Powalgarh forest rest house and we saw one of the broadest tree of my life standing tall in Powalgarh rest house. This is a unique thing in itself.

Another 10 kms drive from Powalgarh rest house took us to this beautiful jaw spread scenic beauty called Gazaari Greenz Resort. The view from the lawn of the resort was so beautiful and very very different from the other locations of Corbett.

The resort is nicely built with spacious rooms. The resort had beautiful well-maintained lawn wherein a person can sit, read book or just simply can immerse in the valley view from the lawn. The resort also has a well maintained and clean swimming pool which also has a very beautiful scenic valley view. The resort is surrounded by valley, hills and forest. We went for nature treks in the forest which is about a 2-3 km trek and it gives a heart thumping feel as you move in the forest on foot. There's a small waterfall also which is a beauty in itself much much better than the Corbett waterfalls. The other reason of this beauty is away from the crowded place which is still unexplored.

The best part of the stay was different climatic change every 2 hours. You can see cloud covering hills, rain and sun rays, again clouds in the entire day. The staff told us that the condition and view keep on changing here very often..

We were also told by staff that Sitabani gate is also around 10 kms from the resort which was a surprise as we thought it is on the other side. Then we were told this is another gate of Sitabani which is not visited by many people and therefore wildlife chances are pretty high as very few people visit from this side of the gate.

Our 2 nights stay at the resort was a wonderful experience as it was a complete family holiday which gave us a feeling of staying at the hill station surrounded by forest.

Would recommend this place for all my readers and friends to try atleast once to have a different kind of experience of Corbett and Nainital.

Gazaari Greenz is a cosy vacation resort in a rural setting rich in nature and wildlife. The place is a stunning series of mountains offering an amazing scenic beauty and a true escape to wilderness.

Powalgarh, Sitabani and Kotabagh are situated in the newly declared Powalgarh Conservation Reserve in the beautiful, vast and rich forests of Ramangar Forest Division which in turn is a part of Terai Arc Landscape. The Conservation Reserve was notified in December 2012 encompassing an area of nearly 60 sq. km. The area had been the home turf of Jim Corbett and many of his writings are set in this area. Sandani Gaja-a beautiful, large grassland in proximity of riverine forests is located 5 km south-east of Powalgarh FRH. According to Jim Corbett, Sandani Gaja ‘in addition to being the most beautiful spot for a hundred miles round is noted for its birdlife’. The area is primarily drained by Dabka River and has prime forests of Sal and other species. Baur River flows to the east of the area. Kotabagh plateau is under inhabitation and agriculture but the forest edges are rich in birdlife. The entire landscape in the backdrop of Nainital range of mountains is a mosatic of dense Sal, mixed and riverine forest, grasslands, rocky river-beds, inhabitation and agriculture. The area is already attracting a large number of birding visitors on account of its diverse birdlife, estimated to be over 350 bird species.
