April 2018 - After a hectic and eventful journey through the hill stations of Kurseong, Darjeeling and Kalimpong - all in West Bengal, I stopped for an evening at Siliguri, enroute Kolkata. Siliguri is a city which spans across the Darjeeling and Jalpaiguri districts in the Indian state of West Bengal. The city is located on the banks of the Mahananda River and the foothills of the Himalayas. It lies 35 kilometres away from its twin city, Jalpaiguri which merge to become the largest metropolis of the region.
A day in Siliguri, could not be complete without a trip to the Hong Kong market, or Bidhan Market. Being back here after close to 8 years, it was nostalgic for me. Just walk down the locality and make your choices for garments, electronics, stationery - you name it. A friend suggested I should be tasting chilli momo, so a few enquiries with shop-owners led me to the "Momo Gali"... Need I say more? ????
The busy-ness of business, the colourful variety is what makes Hong Kong market special. Bringing to you a few snapshots of this must-visit spot. Enjoy the photostory !!!
