Wedding season is round the corner and so is the time for the bride and groom to book their honeymoon tickets. Why go far away to an alien land to celebrate the most special vacay with your partner, when we have everything covered for you here in India only.

Hence continuing with a list of my favorite offbeat destination picks from India which are of the International caliber.

1. Kumarakom, Kerala

First up is a town from the God's own country, towards the south-west of the state. Famous for it's backwaters on the Vembanad Lake, this village takes you a step closer to the nature with a bird sanctuary under it's name. In addition to this, we can enjoy a cozy vacation in a houseboat in the backwaters.

Heading to the North of the country, stopping at the Lake city of Rajasthan. Experience the royal treatment by staying at one of the heritage hotels of the city. A popular destination amongst youngsters, this city holds a very major place in shaping the history of our country and giving us some unbeatable warriors.

Talking about honeymoon, how can we not include the city of love. Love has no boundaries, and this city proves this with the biggest symbol of love, Taj Mahal, to it's name. Once the capital of the Mughal Empire, now has two UNESCO World Heritage sites.

4. Dudhsagar waterfalls, Goa

Confused to choose between North Goa or South Goa? We will make it easier for you. Let's trek our way towards a scenic view of waterfalls with a railway track passing over it. The place which became famous due to one of the scenes from the Bollywood movie, Chennai Express, takes you on an adventurous ride which leads you to the base of the waterfall forming a natural pool.

5. Gokarna, Karnataka

Coming back to South India, a coastal paradise away from the beaches of Mumbai or Goa, this Southwestern town on the Arabian Sea is not only about beaches but is also a very popular pilgrimage site.

6. Auli, Uttarakhand

For Mountain lovers, this town is where you need to head next for your perfect minimoon. Considered as a Himalayan ski resort, it's surrounded by oak forests. In addition to all the winter sports activities, there's a long cable car connecting the town with Joshimath, home to several climbing expedition and trekking trails.

7. Hampi, Karnataka

This ancient village of South India, declared as one of the UNESCO World Heritage site, is dotted with several temple ruins, linking itself to the Ramayan era when it was called as the Pampaa Devi Tirth Kshetra. This town is located in the hilly terrain made up of granite boulders.

8. Coonoor, Tamil Nadu

A hill station in the South of India is famous for it's tea estates surrounding the Nilgiri hills. A famous destination for the shootings of Bollywood film, spread over a land of 12 hectares, this town provides a panoramic view of Nilgiri ranges and Catherine falls.

9. Lakshadweep Islands

10. Vizag, Andhra Pradesh

The second largest city on the East coast, after Chennai, is the ancient port city which had trade relations with Middle East and Rome, once upon a time. The only natural harbor that we have on the East Coast is in Vizag, also known as Vishakhapatnam. Known for it's beaches and ancient Buddhist sites, this city is nicknamed as 'The City of Destiny' and 'The Jewel of East Coast'.
