It was July 2016, my MBA was about to start and I had to leave for Philippines next month. While I had not travelled India for a while now, it could not have got better than signing off the country for few years with my first bike road trip along with my buddy Divam. Always hustling in the city amidst pollution, we enjoyed every bit of our journey in Karnataka which offered us clean air, serene waterfalls, and rustic mountains. Our journey started from Bangalore and we travelled to Shimoga stopping in between to strip off by the highway side and take a random dip in the river.
Before taking the night's rest, we explored the city around having little fun in the night by chatting with people in the language they were finding hard to understand. But they were polite enough to smile and have moving conversation of whatever little they could comprehend. We left to see the falls next morning and I must say the spiral journey across mountains was beautiful and more so were the majestic Jog falls where I momentarily lost my bike keys as well :P. That was a stressful situation in the midst of nature's peace.
On the third day, we left for Udupi - city famous for its Dosas and Uttapam. But little did we know that we would also be able to discover a perfect bike stretch which was amid a lake and sea. We sat down on the rocks besides the beach, took a moment to cherish the sound of waves before going back to our hotel.
After covering the falls and beach view, we headed off to our final destination Coorg - city famous for its coffee plantations. The resort was built on hilltop area so we were able to do a mountain hike in the nature and drink locally fresh produced coffee by villagers residing there. Though I am not a filter coffee lover, but that cup changed my perception towards coffee. Before culminating our trip and heading off to Bangalore, we thought why not wash away all our tiredness with a Spa. Now, this was a very unusual Spa which I never had. I am not sure if it were to remove the tiredness or make you tired again. Here comes a Waterfall Spa, where we sat down beneath a cold waterfall on a chilly morning with our solid backs just to realize that it was not so great idea but yeah, we had to experience all the adventure no matter how stupid it was.
Now, as we travel back to the city dust we keep our memories fresh, alive and curious for next such adventurous trip.
