Started from Madhepur, Bihar (My hometown) at 12PM through Nirmali and reached Laukha(One of India Nepal border) around 3 PM. After security check, we need to take vehicle pass(Nepal RTO tex) called 'Bansaar' on day basis. After crossing border we reached Lalbandi around 7PM through Lahan, Mithila. We stayed here overnight at Hotel United, Nice hotel, economical, nice stuff and food.
Today we started quite late from Lalbandi around 12 PM. We started our journey through Malta, Amelkhganj, Hetauda, Bhaise, Nibuwater, Bhimphedi, Kulekhani, Dakshinkali, kirtipur and reached out hotel named 'Hotel Gallery' in Z street around 7:30PM. The road we good till Bhaise and then from Bhaise to kirtipur road conditions were very bad. You can experience off-road biking in that region. If you want good road and smooth travel then you should probably choose another route option that is through Mithila, Kamalamai, Bhadrakali, Machchhegaun, Kashikhanda, Dhulikhel, Bhaktapur.
The scenic beauty was very good till Bhaise. So if you like biking even in off road you should probably choose this road. We reached hotel, check in and went out to check the locality around and Z street was amazing at night. Most of the hotels in Z street doesn't have their parking for vachiles, so you need to park your personal vehicle in private parking. The charges for parking is 20 Nepali rupees per hour or 200 for overnight parking. So if you're taking your personal vehicle, confirm with hotel first before booking. We had our dinner out and signout for the day.
Next day morning we woke up by 8, had our great breakfast and started our khathmandu darshan with our bike around 10. First we went to see Pashupati math Temple. It's a big temple and will take around 1.5 to 2 hours to roam around all the temples inside. This temple is around 4-5 km from z street, thamel. Then we went to see Boudha Stup which is around 2-3 km from there. It's a big stupa as you can see in my pictures and there is also a monastery beside. Whole are is a big spot point for street shopping like hand crafts, woolen clothes, fruits etc. We left from there around 1:30 pm to reach Khathmandu Darbar Square which is around 8 km from there. In between we had delicious Momo, people there used to eat pork Momo, if you are vegetarian then ask for veg Momo otherwise you might get pork Momo in your plate. At Khathmandu Darbar square, you need to park your vehicle outside as no vehicle allowed inside. It's a place has lots of temples around and good place for street shopping. Then we went to Bhadrakali, it's a small temple nearby. We came to our street by 7pm, park our bike for overnight and started roaming to check out night life there. We had Nepali style bamboo soup there from our hotel restaurant, it was unique, you must try once if you there in Khathmandu. If you want to enjoy night life in Khathmandu, you must visit thamel after 8pm. You can see street dancing by different community, live music at pubs and bar, lots of dance bar, karaoke nights etc. We went to some pub with live music and dance, had drinks and dinner from there and check out all the places near by, had shopping and came back to hotel.
Today we woke up early around 7 AM, got ready by 8 and came down for lunch. We checked out from hotel and started our journey back to Bihar by 9AM. We decided to take another alternative road which is from Kathmandu to Madhyapur thimi, Bhaktapur, Sanga, Banepa, Dhulikhel, Patlekhet, Kashikhanda, Katunje besi, Mangaltar, Bhimeahor, Ratanchura, Kamalamai, Mithila then from Mithila, the same route through Badharamal, Mirchaiya, Golbazar, Lahan then enter to Indian border through Laukaha. The road were very good as well as the scenic beauty. We took lots of stop to check out the landscape, greenery beauty, temples and river. Till Mithila, most of a road is through ghat area, you will enjoy the riding. There is one river named "Sunkoshi" which runs along side the road from Dumja till Bhimeahor around 40 Km. We stopped in between, went down to see the river, water is very clear and fresh. Then we stopped for having same snacks around 1 in between, there was a nice place in between on the top of mountain and lots of stalls by local people. You can get local and tasty snacks along with maggi, tea, panipuri etc. We stopped for 30 min, and resumed our journey. Then we stopped at unique temple which located on the highway near "Dapkha". In that temple people used to hand a mirror around temple and write his/her vehicle number on it. There are lots of mirrors hanged on the wall along the highway, which you can check out in my pictures. We stopped their, see the temple, took photos and resumed our journey. We reached at Laukaha around 5Pm. The ride was very smooth, enjoyable. That all about it, thanks for reading it.
