A day spent well in Royalty

Located on a hill, Amer/Amber fort is a beautiful fort having an area of 4 sq kms and situated 11km from Jaipur city. Built by Sawai Man Singh 1, Amer Fort is known for its artistic Hindu style elements.

It consists of the:

1) Diwan-i-Aam, or "Hall of Public Audience"

2) Diwan-i-Khas, or "Hall of Private Audience",

3) Sheesh Mahal (mirror palace),

4) Jai Mandir,

5) Sukh Niwas where a cool climate is artificially created by winds that blow over a water cascade within the palace.

Its a must visit place when in Jaipur.

One need 2/3 hours to roam at this place and seriously, its worth it.

There runs electric rikshaws as well for the ones who can't climb hills.
