Day 1

Founded by Ruler Man Singh of Chanda dynasty , located on a hill and with an area of approx 4 sq. kilometres, Amer Fort/ Amber Fort is a beautiful historic fort located in Amer, Rajasthan, India and is situated at approx 12 km from the capital city of the State of Rajasthan. Amer/Amber got its name from the Ambikeshwar Temple. Ambikashwara is a local name for Lord Shiva.

Amer Fort is known for its artistic style elements. With its large ramparts and series of gates and cobbled paths, the fort overlooks Maota Lake,  which is the main source of water for the Amer Palace.

The magical constructions have been made with red sandstone and white marbles, this attractive palace has four levels each having a separate courtyard.

It consists of the Diwan-e-Aam, the Hall of Public Audience, the Diwan-e-Khas, the Hall of Private Audience,  the Sheesh Mahal- mirror palace, and  Sukh Niwas.
