So we reached around 6.30 AM at Katgodham and from there we took cab & reached Nainital at 8 AM. We booked AC sleeper Volvo bus from Anand Vihar. Why? Because Tatkal ticket booking is not allowed in Ranikhet express and we have a 10 month old baby(So chair car train or sitting bus is out of option).
After reaching at 8 AM, we have done breakfast and slept till 11 AM because you can't get proper sleep in moving Volvo bus. After waking up, we took bath and cab was ready at the door for pickup. So whatever we have visited with cab, I have mentioned them below in time series.
Himalaya View
As you can see in the pic below. There are many telescope at this point. You can see places through telescope like Himalaya, temple, spot where Raja Hindustani was shot etc. Using telescope is not free. You can spend around maximum 20 to 30 minutes for watching views and clicking pics.
Naini peak View
From this place you can view the main Nainital lake. It looks like in a mango shape. It was originally in shape of eyes. In Hindi, eyes are called "Nain". That's why it is called Nainital but with time shape got changed. At each view point you will get hot tea and Maggi.
Tiffin top
There is horse riding available to go for Tiffin top. But we have 10 month old baby we can't go uphill on horse but we can go on plains. So we did horse riding. After 12 years I have done this.
And my daughter was also enjoying the ride. We did not go to Tiffin top. While riding the horse there many beautiful views you can see. One of them is Sariyatal from top.
Nearby this is Lovers point also known as Suicide point.
Woodland water fall
So Tiffin top is at mountain top and Woodland water fall is at the bottom. So our cab traveled from top to bottom. When you were at top, you were above clouds and when you are going down you can feel the cloud and see it. Here we did the lunch and went for waterfall. We went in waterfall bare feet. The water was ice cold.
After this we tried to get into cave garden but the ticket counter got closed at 4.30 PM and we reached at 4.38 PM. Also after seeing the pics of caves, we decided not to go with 10 month old baby because going through caves needs crawling and going through small spaces. So the cab dropped us at the Hotel.
Night view Nainital
After having tea, we came to Nainital lake (as our hotel is only 100 meters away from hotel). We walked 2 km via Mall road and bought some cheap ornaments.
Interesting fact is that Nainital Lake has fishes. But for local people, the lake is sacred so they can't eat fish from that. Outsiders or people who don't believe in this can eat this. Local people can eat fish from other lakes.
