Kampong Phluk is a cluster of three villages of stilted houses built within the floodplain of the Tonle Sap about 16 km southeast of Siem Reap. The villages are primarily Khmer and have about 3,000 inhabitants between them. Flooded mangrove forest surrounds the area and is home to a variety of wildlife including crab-eating macaques.
Escape the rooms at "The Great Escape" are so addictive and this one lived up to all expectations! So intriguing and challenging whilst being super fun! Staff were a little hard to understand on the walkie talkie but were very kind and attentive to all our needs. Also very cheap and not just a "time killer" like some other activities turn out to be. The old market “Psah Chas” is right in the center of town. It’s a fun place to visit, but it’s probably not for the squeamish… Right in the middle, you’ll find the food market; a labyrinth of tables with raw meat, uncomfortable smelly fruit and fish, local sausages and grisly pig heads. In the midst of it all is a swirl of local women selling and buying, laughing and negotiating.
There is also a small baray (reservoir) behind the temple where local boat trips (US$7 per boat) are possible through the lotus pond.
