Oh dear Souvik, You aren't dreaming. This is real.

Mountains make me smile. I feel like I'm the happiest while exploring those beautiful roads, clicking picturesque views, sitting and absorbing the light and making countless memories. But, oh dear Spiti, what a surprise.

I once wrote in a diary, long back in 2017, that I wish to travel to Spiti. I never knew it will happen this way. I had a travel list, which included travelling to the Highest Post Office in the world, strolling around the Highest village in the world, everything. That list was never ending.

It was a new morning. As we sat in the car and drove to the tallest of the mountains, we crossed through a ruined monastery, Tangyud Monastery, and next to it was Hikkim. What's special about that village? Hikkim is home to the World's Highest Post Office, that too on the altitude of 4440m. It used to be in a house, but got shifted into a kiosk recently.

Tenzin sold postcards here. A family ran a cute little cafe. Nothing could have been better than 'Maggi in the mountains'. We took souveniers as we left the village. The next was Komic. Trust me, I didn't know the names of these villages. But it was the Highest Village in the World. All I was doing was ticking off the checklist and screaming with contentment.

The essence was magical, peaceful and beyond words. Melancholia disappeared in no less time and Happiness set the tone perfectly. Next was Langza, the fossil village. Also, where the Buddha statue is situated and believed to be 1000 years old. Was I living in a dream? I guess I was.

Oh no no, don't ask me about that night. This was the first thing that I wrote in the list and at night, when I looked up in the sky, I saw the Milky Way for the very first time. Millions of stars and me. I cannot believe it. It was a dream. It surely was. But no, I guess I was living it. Yes, I was...I surely was, living it.

And also I did send something to my close ones from hikkim, hope it reaches to you people soon.
