Meghalaya -The name means "the abode of clouds" in Sanskrit and it is exactly so. The state is bounded to the south by the Bangladeshi divisions of Mymensingh and Sylhet. During the British rule of India, the British imperial authorities nicknamed the place as "Scotland of the East".It is also called "Scotland of North East".This place is one of the most beautiful states in the North-East India. For Bengali Meghalaya is the place of "Sesher Kobita"-"The Last Poem".

The day we reached Shillong, as it was almost late evening , we had no other option than to visit local Police bazar at night. Next day, we visited wettest place on Earth- Cherrapunjee (Sohra). Meghalaya is the place of uncountable Falls and lush of greens. It's bit difficult to manage to see many places . We visited Nohkalikai Falls, Wah kaba falls, Seven Sisters Falls and Mawsmai Cave.
