Day 1

Flew in from Ahmadabad to Bangalore on an early flight and reached at Sid bhaiya's(vgood friend from goechala trek) place in the noon.

Flight was exhausting and I was tired.

Sid bhaiya had cooked chicken and rice.

Had awesome lunch followed by tomb raider game on ps4, and then I went to sleep .

Then at Eve we talked and laughed and watched some funny videos on YouTube and had pizza.

Soon it was 8 30 pm and I had to catch a bus to Coorg.

Day 2

Reached Coorg early in the morning at 5 30 am.

Checked in at

Slept till 8 o'clock or so. Then I had to decide what all to cover on the first day.

First I had to rent a bike so I went to Royal brothers to rent a motorbike.

I rented a bajaj Avenger cruise 220 for 1100 bucks and I was informed that I was not allowed to take this vehicle to mandalpatti (one of the must places to visit in Coorg).

This only encouraged me to do the opposite of what they said.

So at around 10 am I was on my bike and I planned to visit Abbey falls that day.

It was a 2 hr ride and I enjoyed it fully though it was hard to find the way even with the help of Gmaps. The road had many twists and turns and was accident prone.

After reaching as I parked my bike, I saw a shop selling homemade wine in a variety of flavours.

Ironically the seller only looked like a 14 yr old. Haha

I bought a paddy wine and a ginger wine for ₹200 each.

Then I went to Abbey falls and I found out that there was fencing and visitors were not allowed to go close to the falls. The fencing kept me at least 20m away from the falls.

Though the falls was beautiful,It wasn't astonishing. I didn't find it making an impression on me.

Maybe it's because I have been to Himalayan treks and have seen waterfalls far more beautiful than this one. And also there were too many people there.

I decided to have lunch nearby there only.

At one dhaba I ate fried rice and boiled eggs.

Then I went back to the homestay(soulmate stays).

Out of these, the first destination was a 1 and half hr drive and the rest 2 destinations were nearby the place of my stay.

So I started out from the homestay on Avenger and first went to omkareshwara temple which was closed, and I started thinking that I'm already not much into temples, so why the fuss. I cancelled this destination.

I went to raja's seat and that was quite spectacular . Clicked some pics and shot some vids and then I was on my way to mandalpatti.

It was 21 km from raja's seat and a 1 and half hr drive because the road was curvey and not constructed properly.

After a drive if 7 -10 kms, the road became hell..

It was rocky and steep incline. I had to drive at a speed ranging from 10 to 30kmph. It was difficult and I was afraid I might slip. .

I had to be really careful.

Yes , proper constructed roads did appear on the way in patches but as I ascended, the road became worse.

Sometimes I was just driving on the rocks.

After a ride of 2 hrs or more I arrived at the entry gate from where the top was 3 kms away.

There was no road now. Only sandy paths

There was no road now. Only sandy paths.

Soon there was no path suitable to drive even a two wheeler, so I parked my bike nearby and hiked rest of the way.

It was a little exhausting but the views were amazing. .

First I saw a peak and I thought that it was the top (mandalpatti) , then as I reached the top, I saw 2 bigger peaks. I had to climb them. No other way.

After hiking for about 45 minutes, I finally reached the top and felt amazing and as I reached I realized that I was all alone up there. But I had myself.

I freshen up and took a shower and then I watched TV and slept for half an hour. At 7 I searched for places to eat online and decided that I will eat dinner at Coorg cuisine. I also remembered that my friend suggested to try the cheese cake at the French bakery and so I did.

I decided first I would eat main course at Coorg cuisine followed by desert at the French bakery.

At Coorg cuisine, I had a pork dish, a chicken dish, rice dumplings and rice chapati. Ask of these dishes were just amazing and next level.

Then I went to the French bakery where I tired the chocolate cheesecake.

I was purely amazing and I clicked some pics of it.

I also complimented them for the amazing cheesecake.

As I asked for the bill, they said it is complimentary and I was surprised. Like I didn't even tell them about my YouTube channel yet and then also.

It was really amazing on their part.

Then I went back to homestay and Sherri early at 10 30 pm.

Day 3

Today I woke up at 7:30am. Had a really good night's sleep.

Last night I had planned out the destinations I need to cover today.

Today I had to go to-

1. Dubare Elephant camp

2. Nisargadhama

3. Harangi dam

4. Golden temple

So after having a protein shake and 3 leftover rice dumplings for breakfast I started out for Dubare elephant camp at 10 am

.

It was 36 kms from the homestay.

Today it was a highway ride. A plane straight road.

I fell in love with the path. It was so beautiful.

I was going through highway roads I have only seen in movies.

On the way I stopped for buying some homemade chocolates and bought homemade dark chocolate.

Then after a drive of half an hr I stopped again and had some fresh coconut water and in another 15 minutes I reached Dubare elephant camp.

I reached there at 11 30 am.

There was river rafting also. But it was still water.

Now to reach the elephant camp I had to go there by a boat. In the que for the boat ride, I met Vishal from Mumbai. He became a good friend.

On the boat I met an old person, he seemed like in his 70s. He started asking me what do I do and I told him that I am studying to become a doctor. And I also told him that I have a YouTube channel named KAIZEN, on which I talk about how to improve your mind, body and soul.

He told me that he is actually the certified GURU of KAIZEN.

He told me the original definition of KAIZEN . According to him , KAIZEN is KAI- CHANGE and ZEN-FOR GOOD. So it actually means change for good.

My definition, what I had read in the book"the monk who sold his Ferrari" is never ending enrichment of mind, body and soul.

It was cool. .

Then after a boat ride of 10 min I reached the elephant camp and it was really amazing . Got to feed some elephants and watched how they are bathed in the river by their masters.

It was amazing.

After that I did water rafting in still water which was quite alright.

.

Then I was hungry.

My next destination was Nisargadhama.

On the way I stopped at this dhaba called the Coorg cuisine. The name was same as the restaurant I ate at the previous day but the food was much better though it was very spicy .

Then after a ride of about 20 minutes I reached nisargadhama.

It was a narrow bridge which opened into a park which had many things to do and watch.

There were some interesting statues and activities like zip line and tree house climbing and there was also a stream of river flowing down.

It was quite cool. ..

Then my last destination was the Harangi dam.

Though Vishal (the friend I made at dubare elephant camp) said that his driver told them that harangi dam is closed for public, I went there anyway.

The drive was again amazing. The roads, the surrounding forest and the wind just made me feel content.

I felt happy from inside.

As I reached the dam I had a cucumber and watermelon . There was a park in front of the dam. I sat there for a while and then started to walk towards the dam. The dam was closed for the public to go to its top and they could only see it from down below but yea up close.

So I went up close to the dam. It was marvelous. I was amazed at the huge structure.

Clicked some pics and then I decided to leave but I felt that I needed to go more close to the dam so I did.

As I went there, I saw a staircase, a narrow staircase , without any railing at either side.

It was just straight up.

I decided to climb it.

If I fall on either side, I die. It was dangerous. I had to be careful. .

I started my climb. I was crawling up to the dam slowly and steadily. Soon my heart rate went up, my hands and feet started to shake and as I looked back and down I was thinking why am I doing this? What drives me? The answer was, to overcome my fears and going out of my comfort zone to explore the unknown.

Soon I reached the top of the dam and as I looked downwards I saw death. I started myself imagining falling down and dying, but I knew that I am the master of my mind I will not die. I started taking deep breaths. I tried to calm down and decrease my heart rate by decreasing adrenaline secretion.

And now I realised I had to go back down. Which was worse cause I couldn't see where I am going.

I could only see my feet on the stairs.

I went down slower than I came up and taking deep breaths. I was continuously affirming myself that I am strong, able and calm , I got this , I have the power to do this, I am safe , careful and confident.

After 3 minutes and 35seconds, which seemed like an eternity I was down. Safe and sound.

I had a sense of achievement and an unshakeable confidence.

I came out stronger than I went.

Now I started walking out to the exit and after exiting I had some coconut water and that replenished my electrolytes and then I started my ride back to madikeri.

After another 1 hr of drive I reached the homestay at 6 pm.

Freshen up and chilled for a while and then at 7 pm I headed out to get something to eat.

I went to the French Bakery again and this time I shot a video for my YouTube channel at their place. Again I got a complementary cheesecake. Again it was delicious.

Then I had to return the bike back to Royal Brothers.

Then I went back to the homestay and chilled and watched TV till 10 pm. Then I headed out to get dinner and catch my bus to Bangalore.

So I took a auto to the restaurant raintree.

It was also raining at that time and I went to the restaurant raintree haha..

I wanted to try out their food since yesterday and when I reached, they were about to close. I was their last customer.

I ordered a chicken dish which was a Coorg special chicken dish.

It was so delicious. Not too spicy , not too salty. It was just perfect. I loved it.

I met the chef and thanked him . And now I had to leave for the bus station. It was nearby. On my way out of the restaurant, the chef was also leaving on his bike and so I asked him to drop me at the bus stop. Haha so he gave me a lift till the bus stop.

Now I reached at the bus stop at 10 30 pm and I had to wait till 11 50 for the bus to come.
